Visited here on our last night in L'Estartit. We shared the Mega Tapas that was very good.... and our girls had Chicken nuggets that were as good as you expect plus we ordered Rack of Ribs that were fabulous.. succulent... tasty and huge in portion! See picture!Beers were great - Restaurant has around 100 bottled Beers... mainly Trappist style at UK prices... not cheap but a welcome different choice to the usual in nearby restaurants.Add to that great service.. friendly and personal as we like then nob complaints in recommending this Pub / Restaurant if you are looking for something a bit different!

We come every year as a family. An excellent fish restaurant where the welcome and cuisine are genuine. Impeccable silver service. Tried the different paella, black rice, Padilla (a collection of grille fishes and sea food), grilled sole and for a hungry lot, the pica pica tapas as a starter. Proper white tablecloths and napkins. You can eat indoors or on the terrace with sea views.

I wanted to share the delights of tapas with my grandchildren on their first holiday in Spain. The food was disgraceful nothing to do with tapas. Portion sizes where minuscule and the price far to high for the quality of the food. After this experience we prepared our own tapas which the children thoroughly enjoyed

We've been coming to this restaurant for years - accepting the staff making mistakes as they did last week, giving us calamares instead of patatas bravas or forgetting to even bring one of us our dinner. Today has ruined the restaurant for good. My friend (a chef that has worked for a Michelen star restaurant) sent back his steak, which he ordered medium, since it was too well done to even digest. Three people tried it, amongst which another chef that has worked for the same restaurant. All of us noticed it wasn't even nearly medium, but just plain well done. We apologized for sending it back as most of us have worked in the business and understand mistakes can happen. The waitress brought back the steak after talking to the chef (also the owner) for about 20 seconds, claiming we were lying and the steak was as pink as it could be. To be fair, the steak was so old even the raw version of it would have been grey. Anyways, we finished it all together because it was impossible to chew. Afterwards, we went up to the lady that apparently owns the place. She has known my friend for many years and has always been friendly towards her, but as soon as the steak came up, she turned very hostile. She would not listen to any of our comments. We would have paid for the steak anyways as we had finished it, but all 8 of us have never been treated this rude in any restaurant ever. The owner said she would not hear of our comments and turned her back towards us, said we'd better pay for it. The chef said the steak was as pink as it could be and that he knew what he was doing, never even giving us the slightest hint of understanding. After sending the steak back (before talking to the super nice owners), the waitress ignored us for the rest of the evening, taking away our plates without asking if we were done and not offering us the desert menu or any other drink (some of the glasses had been empty for at least half an hour). All in all, we've had a few okay meals over the past years, but this experience has ruined it for all of us. We've been loyal costumers, all of us, but to be called liars when only sending back a steak is just plain ridiculous and shows the level of knowledge the owners and their servers have of the restaurant business.
