A hidden gem in the Spanish countryside. We attended a wedding at cortijo la preza and it made for a perfect day. Beautiful property with stunning views all around. The new pool area was great for relaxing around during the week and the self contained accomodation on site had everything we needed for our stay. Jamie and Catherine were wonderful hosts and made sure our stay was as enjoyable as possible. Will definitely return.

Patios Del Orfebre

We are in a restored house dating from the sixteenth century. All the original parts of the existing house have been preserved, and the rooms have been arranged around the patios. The zones of new construction are in front of the biggest courtyard in which an archaeological deposit, dated around the IV century, found during the building refurbishment can be observed. Patios del Orfebre is located between the millenary and narrow streets at the heart of Cordoba, 350 m from calle judios, 450 m from the majestic Mezquita-Catedral de Cordoba (Mosque-Cathedral), this casa-patio dating from the XVI century has opened its doors, and offers an unforgettable experience: stay in a wonderful architectural example, a protected building that is part of the historic center of Cordoba, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO and among one of the largest sites of the entire old continent.

This place is a delight. Central, traditional and high standard

Needed to stay in central Iznajar and having done so a few times many of the boutique hotels are on horrid slops and hill walks with limited access. Whilst in the centre of all those hills the hotel is central and located on a relatively wide road so off loading is easy, The hotel is small but the lady that was there spoke great English and helped me with taxis and a few tasks I was struggling with that needed Spanish. Room was an amazing standard rustic and fully equipped and modern. If you are visiting Iznajar this is absolutely the place to stay and you are close to some great restaurants and bars

A place of well-being, creativity and lust of life. Among several authentic landscapes, the casa rural offers their guests a large space, luxury, intimity and the convenience of the nearer shores of the lake. This old andalusian farm has been restored using regionals material and ressources that are characteristic of traditional architecture and in which you will find both comfort and aesthetic.

Fantastic hotel, idyllic location, thoroughly recommended

Just back from a 10 day stay in this lovely hotel and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience on our first trip post-covid. The location is stunning with a view from a pool that you can’t tire of. The decor and atmosphere are elegant and tasteful but at no sacrifice to comfort. The rooms are spacious, airy and clean. Jean said he was ‘at our service’ when we first arrived and he certainly with tips, advice and prompt and friendly service with food and drinks. He is observant and remembers small things which make such a difference . I wish we’d eaten here more. This wasn’t a holiday where we were looking to do much yet we ended up going out in the evening to dinner a few times which was not of the same quality as on offer here. From Carolina’s jam to a self devised melon soup to chicken tagine, all beautifully cooked and presented. Very good value for money. We would recommend this hotel to anyone

An old monastry which has been converted to a small hostal/hotel. Beautiful central courtyard with cloisters around it. Rooms are basic, but clean and adequate with en-suite facilities. Views of the surrounding hillside and olive trees are wonderful. Breakfast is continental, but good. Staff are very friendly and can advise on places to see. Streets are very narrow, but passable with care ! We thought the town had a very peaceful and calm feeling ...... all of the locals were very friendly and welcoming. Wi-fi worked well, even in the room. Excellent value for money and we would recommend this Hospederia to anyone.

11 Days in The Barrio of Priego de Cordoba

Reviewed By 630JohnG630

My wife and I stayed in La Posada Real for 11 days in late September. Our host, and owner, Juan, was always there to help us when we needed it. The location of the apartment was in the Barrio de la Villa, which provided us the experience of living in the oldest part of the town, yet within walking distance of all the sites and amenities in the town. The apartment was very nicely finished, very clean, and everything was in working order. The Moorish Castle remains built at the edge of the escarpment were a block away, and Baroque Churches built @ the 18 century are an easy two to three blocks walking. There were three restaurants within a block, and many others in easy walking distance. ATM's are available, as are grocery stores if you want to provide your own meals.

We rented a car upon arriving at the airport in Malaga. The roads are in excellent condition. The location of Priego de Cordoba is central to Grenada, Seville, and Cordoba. The Alhambra, in Grenada, an was an easy hour and 15 minutes away. Seville was 2 hours. A caution if you are going to be driving in Spain; they use radar on the highways. We were driving from Malaga to Priego de Cordoba, and I came over a rise and saw immediately a BIG neon sign over the highway alerting me that I was in a radar controlled area. Too late. They monitor you electronically, and I received notice a week after we returned home to the states that I was 'responsible' for a moving violation in the rental car. Not too bad... 25 euros.

All in all, this is a wonderful location to spend time. With it's plazas, Baroque churches, and white walled streets, it is very relaxing.

Looked for a place near the road that was a decent price en route to Faro. This place is basic, cheap and clean. Had a blast in the restaurant. Our waiters/bartender/reception guy (2 guys, 3 jobs) were awesome. We didn’t speak Spanish, they didn’t speak English but we had fun! Tried Salmorejo and flamenquin for the first time and both were excellent. Excellent red wine. A good mean was had for around €20 all in. Will return if I’m ever here again ?
