Goed, alleen ontbijt ongeorganiseerd

Reviewed By TheMerryDrinker

We logeerden twee nachten in kamer 1308, feitelijk een ruim appartement. We zijn er met plezier verbleven. Bedden slapen uitstekend. Volledige keuken. Kluisje. Gratis parkeren.

Apartamentos H3 Laguna-Playa

Noisy, poorly equipped, no air conditioning in bedrooms.

Reviewed By buzzard2000

Had to check out of our pre-booked accommodation as it was unsuitable, this was what was left at short notice. Read on and you'll understand why. We were told to phone on arrival - phone was not working. Not an easy place to find as it's one of several similar buildings with no name visible. Staff were advertised as speaking English - they dont speak any English at all and dont seem to understand it either but will address you, at length, in rapid Spanish. They didnt understand our attempts at Spanish and the woman was very grumpy. The apartments seem to have no soundproofing at all. If you happen to have a noisy family above you - as we did - you'll be able to join in the conversation. As this is where Spaniards holiday expect the noise to continue to midnight because they dine late. On Friday there was considerable noise outside and I'm glad we were not there on Saturday. Furniture was very scanty and basic and god help anyone who tried to sleep on the sofa, it was uncomfortable even to sit on. As the furniture was metal it really scraped across the floor. Beds were actually quite comfortable, one of the few positives. Plastic table and 3 upright chairs on the large balcony - flat is supposed to sleep 6! Kitchen had one large stockpot type of pan and no others except a frying pan - so we had to heat water in that, which was wasteful if you just wanted to boil an egg. Owners really ought to have more sense. Tiny coffee pot was unusable as it was so filthy. Odd amounts of cutlery so dont expect 6 of anything. The water was switched off over an hour before our check out time, although the man did switch it back on when my wife complained. How are you supposed to wash your breakfast dishes/ clean surfaces when the water has been switched off? A single air conditioning unit in the living room is unlikely to be enough to cool the apartment in summer. A good location for birders as it's opposite a marsh with a lot of bird life. I was told it was where homosexuals look for company - that may explain why so many cars were driven around the very potholed paths. Couldnt see the marsh from the apartment as a large palm tree was in the way, it was cut back just before we left. About a 20 minute (and boring) walk to the nearest restaurants and probably as far to the beach, we had a car. Would I go back - only if there was nowhere else to book.

Superb Stay

Reviewed By MicknRuth

Located in a remote/quiet area but easy drive to Coba de Gata, we really enjoyed our stay here. We had planned to do a lot of walking whilst here but due to some issues with my health I wasn't allowed, so we hope to go back and explore the area in the future. All of the staff here were great! So friendly and helpful, although not a lot of English is spoken they really try and engage as much as possible. The owner has recently taken over the management and running of the place,(his English is excellent) and a fair bit of cleanup/renovation work was ongoing during our stay which, judging by what we saw, is only going to improve the place. Breakfast was good but the evening meals were fantastic. We had planned to visit some restaurants nearby but after eating here on our first night we decided there was no need as the food here would be hard to beat and we'd have that 'Fear of missing out ' as well :) The wine choice is great and reasonably priced and my husband got to try some very interesting bottled beers, which he hadn't tried before, so he was also very happy. The one bed roomed apartment we were in (Room 10) was lovely, lots of space, very clean and comfortable with everything you might need if you did want to cook for yourself. The room also had its own private 'patio' for relaxing in the sun with a couple of sun loungers, a table and chairs and a clothes drier. Looking around I got the impression most of the apartments had this same space. So would definitely recommend an apartment as opposed to a standard room if possible. They also have a wonderful lady who comes in occasionally to provide guests with a professional massage. I booked in for one of these and it was excellent, just what I needed after a stressful time of late. I also got to see in one of their larger apartments (Number 5?), which was unoccupied at the time and this apartment was gorgeous with amazing views. A beautiful, quiet, relaxing place with great food and drink - looking forward to a return visit.

Chilling weekend in a superior villa

Reviewed By Almeria2000

On our return to the villas, we hired a superior villa (number4) - the difference to the standard villas are a sea view, slightly more space, and shade above the dining terrace. Alberto, on reception, is very friendly and helpful, and allowed is to check in early at lunchtime. There is free private parking outside each villa, and the 7 villas are around a communal pool (chilly in May). As there were only 2 of us, the 2 spare bedrooms were locked, so we had the main ensuite bedroom (with a very comfortable superking bed), living room, dining room, kitchen and access to 4 terraces (sunbathing, dining, roof). Will definitely return (and might book the deluxe next time, to see the extra differences). PS there is still a pathway down to the beach, but Real Beach has been taken over (by the Calas/Tarahis family?).

Vacaciones

Reviewed By Nicholas E
