As a Chef with 26 years of experience to find the best burger in the world in the middle of Galicia was a shock , went there by accident and now I can't sleep because I don't know when and if I will be able to have another one. I had the Duende burger which is with foie Gras, pistachios and a reduction of Pedro Jimenez sweet wine, this is madness and when you eat it, you will never be able to eat another burger again and enjoy it, I hate you guys.Es muy dificil responder a todas y cada una de las opiniones de nuestros clientes. No lo haremos nunca sean estas excelentes o descalificantes. Lo que si haremos es valorarlas y agradecerlas infinitamente para poder seguir mejorando y ofrecerles el mejor producto y servicio del que seamos capaces. So the positives were that the ambience was very nice- good decor especially. And the service was quick and friendly.With my foodie hat on I would describe the food as edible. And without it on, I would describe the food as just about ok, I suppose.Goat cheese salad consisted of reasonable piece of goats cheese and a large plate of various varieties of chopped lettuce with walnuts . Smothered in a horrendously sweet dressing which ruined any chance of the salad being even ok.The kids had pasta with mushrooms. An abundance of mushrooms there was not. The plate arrived with a raw egg yolk on top. My children ate this, as they eat pretty much anything. But I know a lot of kids who would not enjoy this be bit. So egg was duly mixed into pasta, and the resulting dish was pretty awful (I tasted their leftovers)To attempt to end on a positive note, it would probably be a great place for just a coffee or a drink (as long as you are not hungry).Gracias por los comentarios. I cannot describe how good the food we had was. The menu is not extensive so we went back 3 tiems to make sure we tried everything. The beef rib is so good that my wife wanted to marry the man who made it!. Every dish is prepared in front of you fresh and eveything we tried was exceptional. This is one of the best places we have ever eaten and we want to go back to A Coruna again just to eat here!Thanks! We hope to see you again!

I have been quite afew times to El Refugio.Although they are famous for their roastbeef, I would not try if coming from the UK.Instead, i would let Alfredo recommend me and for sure you will be happy as long as you are able or ready to pay some 50/60⬠per head.The wine list is extensive and there you can find most of the best wines in Spain.Seafood is also very good, but pricewise, be careful...Indeed, El Refugio is a good place to choose.Alfredo holds there a quite unique paintings collection,Parking (15 cars or so) available.

Decent food, inexpensive and busy both at lunchtime and dinner both times we visited. My only gripe is the service was very slow in the evenings. The waiter explained he had a new member of staff but the new guy seemed perfectly on top of things, I just think they don't have enough staff. The other thing which runs the waiters ragged is the insistence in only serving wine by the glass not by the bottle. If they served it by the bottle, they would be able to cope with the number of requests much more easily. That said, it was a minor gripe and we were in no hurry. The food was inexpensive and tasty. The croquetas were particularly good and the huge salads are a nice change from the relentless fish and meat in Spain!The restaurant is down the street from a small square with some nice bars. It's not a part of town you'd necessarily stumble across but it's worth diverting to.
