As vegetarians, looking for good food in Santiago.Ordered for starter the picantic questadilla to share. Was amazing, but not picantic. For mains - lentils burger and tempeh burger. Very big. A bit hard to eat - dripping from all sides. Very tasty. Finished it all.For desert - chocolate and nut mousse, and raspberry mousse. Excellant.2 glasses of good red wine.Paid 38 Euros. The service a bit slow, but they are very nice.

Paradiso

The bar was very quiet when we visited, and locals were trickling in throughout the evening for drinks and portions. The food was very good with generous portions, but not haute-cuisine so for a quiet dinner for hungry people at the end of the trip it was great for us. All the staff were very friendly - the younger waiter spoke good English and was happy to chat with us and recommend dishes. As I am coeliac I don't expect a lot of places to serve gluten-free bread (and in fact in Spain lots of places don't seem to quite understand gluten-free yet) but I was given some gluten-free crackers, and recommended the Tarta de Santiago as dessert, so these guys are obviously aware of the condition and know what they can and can't offer to coeliac patrons! A quaint bar in a slightly Parisian style for fair prices (40 euros for 5 pinchos, three drinks, bread and dessert -plenty of food for 2).
