Provence-Alpes-Cote d'Azur, France Food Guide: 5 Gastropub food Must-Eat Restaurants & Street Food Stalls in Marseille

Reviews on Gastropub food in Marseille, Provence-Alpes-Cote d'Azur, France. Travelers visit the port city of Marseille, the third largest city in France, for the meeting of style and history. The bay, flanked by Fort Saint-Nicolas, and Fort Saint-Jean shelters the Castle of If, from Count of Monte Cristo fame. Watched over by the basilica Notre-Dame-de-la-Garde, the city's pedestrian zones and shopping areas (including the colorful French-African quarter) mix with historical sites.Travelers looking for a fun time go to the OK Corral, a cowboy theme amusement park.

On recommendation from a Marseille resident and excellent chef, I had lunch at Cafe Bovo. Fantastic. I will return for lunch and dinner. Excellent Burrata dish then perfect Steak Tartare full of basil with creamed sweet potato. Excellent, excellent. I compare this favorably with Maison Pic where I dined a few days ago. Do not miss Bovo!

Wow what a find. A short walk, bike our Uber ride from the Old Port district. This family owned establishment is worth the extra effort if you want great food in a comfortable relaxing atmosphere. They have an extensive menu with French Mediterranean flair. I had scallops and duck and both we fantastic my wife had a house version of ceviche which was fresh and flavorful and octopus original dish in a tomato based sauce that was delightful. The portion are generous and the cost is reasonable given the quality. The waiters speak good English and they have English menus. If you want quality French/Mediterranean food and don't want to spend $200 € in the process this is the best food/value around. You won't regret the effort to get there.Thank you very much, we are happy to have satisfied you, see you !

we were there at noon. All tables are reserved. So do make reservation in the main restaurant. We were in a small, nice, cosy next to the restaurant place. and that is the problem. All food comes from the main building so the distance to the next service place is too far so that the food is not warm. Almost cold french fries! A pity because they are delicious when hot. The steak well cooked but no salad nothing, just fries and a cold roquefort sauce. So next time we will make reservations for the main restaurant as close as the stairs coming from the kitchen. The lady told me I should have told her. Ok but we only saw her for the bill. SO!We will do it one more time and then if it isn't ok I will tell you and we won't go again. For the owners. The outside terrace is a marvel. But why do we, non smokers, have to be punished because we don't some. You could see the smoke hanging outside of the terrace So please do an effort and have a big part of your outside terrace for non smokers. A real problem everywhere!
