I love the food but trying to get in is ridiculous. The restaurant is way too small for its popularity. They need to expand in order to seat more customers.

We were looking for an Indian Restaurant and discovered Taj Mahal. Each time we have visited the restaurant, the food has been delicious and the service very good. Also, the prices are reasonable. We like the appetizer Chicken Tikka (on the dinner menu, its call Taj Chicken), and usually order it as our dinner along with another dish (we are working our way through the menu, trying many of the dishes). It's a popular go-to for restaurants, always busy Friday and Saturday nights, but we have never had to wait for a table.

First, ignore the fact that this restaurant is attached to a Travelodge. It's been a German restaurant and then several other incarnations, and if it wasn't for the excellent reviews I wouldn't have set foot in the place. But it's true - the best Indian/Himalayan in Lancaster. The lunch buffet is inexpensive and delicious, and they bring fresh Naan to your table. A member of our group ordered a mango drink that was shocking orange and ethereal. Even my husband, who's not much for Indian food, went back for seconds. The staff is lovely and attentive, and the restaurant clean and bright (if a bit 90's). I've heard the weekend buffet is larger and very popular, and the vegetarian dishes are kept in a separate section.
