Our large tour group dined at L'Orangeraie on a week night and found the food and view worthy of the castle. Our menu consisted of smoked salmon in dill citron sauce was delicious, Blanquette of veal al la Saumuroise was tender and tasty with wild rice and mixed veggies and dessert of tarte tatin with vanilla sauce seemed a little stale. Service staff was prompt. Parking at the castle was at a poorly lit distance from the restaurant. If you are looking for a restaurant for a special occasion with good food, this is the place.

We stopped there for dinner on a Monday night when pretty much everything else was closed. We found that the food was very good but service was so so..the waitresses didnât look very trained. Prices are ok. Not sure we would go back there but it was ok as a one off

So happy to find gluten free gallettes - both sweet and savoury. The waitresses absolutely understood our dietary requirements and tailored the menu to suit. Since being diagnosed coeliac this was my first gf crepe experience and I was over the moon!

We ate here in 2009 when Maitre Jacques was still running things. The new owners have very successfully kept the traditional ambiance and simple approach to the menu. We enjoyed melon au Porto and then chicken with pommes frites - both delicious! We paid just over 30 ⬠which included our coffees and wine. Highly recommended!
