Reviewed By Stace KStayed for a quick stopover from QLD to Vic. Room was huge, large living area and good sized bedroom. The hotel is quite old and has a peculiar design - there is a main room door and a second door adjacent that if you forget to lock from the inside would be accessible from the hall?! It also has a bit of a hospital feel in the corridor but nonetheless, perfectly suitable for a quick overnight stop. Good location and friendly service also.

Then we still have our traditional Pub Rooms with shared bathroom facilities for those who rather spend more time at the bar and restaurant, than in their rooms! Although the Hotel was built in 1934, it has real old world charm and is still very affordable for such a great location. We have live music every Thursday, Friday & Saturday nights which creates a great atmosphere in our hotel for your weekend escape.

Reviewed By judeosheaGreat place for lunch, as the views are fantastic. Meals are above normal pub grub. Get in and book a table durning NSW school holiday times if you want a table. As busy as it is, the staff are wonderful and it is worth the wait. Have a drink and enjoy the vista, If they have the ‘King prawn cocktail’ on the menu, try it. Worthy of Master Chef. I am going to try to replicate it when I get home.

Very handy location with great facilities
Reviewed By Barry HOnly stayed for one night, passing through. The apartments are adjacent to the beach (not quite on it) and also has an outside pool. Many apartments in the block but actually pretty quiet and good night's sleep was enjoyed. Rob gave us the most helpful, thorough and informative welcome on arrival we had received since being in Australia. Shops very close, lots of free underground parking, clean spacious rooms (large balcony) with cooking facilities and washing machine and drier. Brilliantly equipped at a sensible price.

Wouldn’t recommend nor rebook. The Ramada for a few extra $’s offers much more comfortable stay and pleasant, modern ambience.

Reviewed By brpiFirst of all, they are not located at the hotel but just manage a few rooms, so it took us a while to find their representative to check-in. The representative did not exactly know in which room we should be, so we had “a nice” trip through hotel floors before they were able to find our room The next issue was that they charged my credit card after check-out. When I have noticed that on my credit card statement and ask them why they admitted it was a mistake and returned some of the money. When I have asked why they have not returned all of them they said it is due to bank fees and currency changes and that is my problem not theirs. Then after a few days, they have started charging my credit card again claiming that they have returned some extra money to me and they have to take it back. I told them that I did not get any extra money but got less then they took in the first time and asked for some bank statement or confirmation that they have sent me that extra money. They have sent me credit card receipts. And guess what, first of all, they have faked my signature on the receipts and second of all the receipt which should “prove” that they returned money had different card number than mine card… I have pointed that out, a few days later they return the money but once again not all of them…. and no apology or anything from them. So, I had to block my credit card during vacations to stop them from taking any more money from my credit card. Room was ok, a bit old décor, and not very clean (especially a balcony which was just disgusting) but the bed was ok, and the kitchen was well equipped. So if you would like a room in the hotel please do the booking via main hotel operator not this shabby company :(

Reviewed By G3429MZalexgOur booking was made looking for a comfortable place with air-conditioning as it was in summer. On top of that, we assumed we'd get a clean apartment. We were wrong. The apartment was hot and the air-con didn't work (it hadn't worked in ages, going by the state of corrosion through the system). The kitchen was grotty, cups unwashed, cockroaches running everywhere, and the bathroom door didn't close. To make it worse, there were dirty and wet towels left in cupboards which stank. To make things even worse again, we called the manager, and very quickly the manager started telling at us, told us to put up with it, and hung up. We got no sleep, and couldn't leave fast enough. I am in the process of suing the company. This is one of the worst places I have ever stayed in.

Reviewed By Richard WMy family stayed the first week in January 2022 for four nights. On the 3rd afternoon we were informed there was a power outage. With no lighting or air conditioning this made for a very unpleasant night with 2 children. The next day they could not guarantee that the power would be back on so we checked into another hotel. Later that afternoon we recieved another text from the Honeysuckle stating that the power would not be on for another night which justified our decision to find another hotel. The following week we contacted the manager seeking a refund for the 2 nights when the power was out as the room was 'not fit for purpose' to be told 'it's not my problem, take it up with the building owner'. We did and were informed that power outages were covered by the hotel's insurance. I took this back to the hotel multiple times with no reply. We escalated the situation with NSW Fair Trading but because Honeysuckle would not respond to the issues raised the case has been closed unless we proceed with private legal representation.

Reviewed By 298meilinlGood location and quite nice room with full kitchen, dining and living room. High speed Wi-Fi for those overseas travelers. The hotel is located in a convenient place - food, art gallery and the esplanades and restaurants are all so near. You may catch a tram within a short distance. The beaches like Newcastle beach and Nobbys beach are also close.
