Nice restaurant in a good location, with friendly, helpful staff. However, like so many Thai restaurants in the US the menu and dishes are always the same and they produce food that is rather bland and not representative of Thai cuisine.We shared a starter of Crispy Wrapped Shrimp where the shrimp were good but the sauce had no real flavour. Next it was Drunken Lo Mein Noodle with pork, and Red Curry with beef. We asked our waitress how spicy they served their dishes, and was it Thai spicy or American spicy? We were told American spicy - so my wife asked that her noodles to be spicy, and I asked that my curry be Thai spicy. Turned out that the noodles were totally un-spicy, and my curry had a little bit of spice; certainly not Thai spicy! My wife said the pork in her noodles was on the chewy side, my beef however was good. Healthy portion size, and we had good service. Drank warm sake with our meal, which was pleasant, but expensive for the flask size. Wines list was average for a Thai restaurant and they had a good selection of both Thai and domestic beers. Disappointing.

My wife and I tried Thai Basil as it was within walking distance from our hotel. We decided to try some of the less common dishes - Garlic Halibut and Thai BBQ Chicken. Garlic Halibut was just ok. Good stir fry smell and taste, but the halibut was a tough chicken consistency. The Thai BBQ chicken was not good. It's your grocery store rotisserie style chicken which is then deep fried before serving. The meat was super tough, so much so that we had to ask for another dish of dipping sauce. We complained to our server and she said she would mention it to the kitchen. Honestly, I don't think she said anything.We ordered some takeout for the kids back at the hotel. The green curry stir fry was not bad, a good combination of green curry and stir fry taste. Pad thai was just ok, kids noted that they've had better.

We enjoyed a generous meal, good service, casual atmosphere and kid friendly (they love noodles.) Recommend if you like Asian food.
