The restaurant at the truck stop recently went through a rehabilitation and this was the first time that I had the opportunity to visit their new digs. The restaurant has a very modern and pleasant environment with one of the most extensive salad bars in Southern Oregon. One can enjoy the buffet or order a meal off of the menu. A separate area is adjacent to the public restaurant which is for the use of truckers who would like to make telephone calls, do paperwork or just watch TV. For the general public, the restaurant is quiet with no unusual interruptions. They serve a variety of good comfort food items that run the gamut from sea food to meatloaf. Normally, I give a good truck stop restaurant a rating of three stars. However, because of their sensitivity to customer desires, their quality food, a great salad bar and an exceptional bakery on the premises, I would have rated the Iron Skillet Restaurant a four star place for the traveling public. unfortunately, I stayed with rhree stars because my wife's Chicken Fried Steak was just not up to par. Fix that and they could become four stars.

This place is sooo good that it's almost always packed, hence the word "loud" in the title... It can be very loud. The food selections are many, the prices are fair, and the service is very good. We've eaten here for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and enjoyed our meals during all three times. Occasionally you get the server who is exhausted and looks/acts tired and like they want to go home, but most are extremely helpful, attentive, and friendly. This is in our top 2 breakfast spots in Medford. You can't go wrong picking this spot to eat at.

Stopped here for lunch on my way south. Pretty tricky to get to. In fact, confusing! But, the hassles were work it. Although there was a bit of a wait for a table (and to pay when leaving), the service was "truckstop friendly"... and speedy! The steak was done exactly right and the hash browns were first-rate, as I've found at all the other Iron Skillets. The salad bar was also first rate. Everything was good. No surprises. No surprises. That's what I love about Iron Skillets. Consistent quality.Recommended. However, unlike other Iron Skillets I've been to, this one didn't have really late or all-night hours when I was there. So, plan accordingly so you're not disappointed.

Excellent, welcoming service, many beers to choose from, and wines. No spirits. The menu dishes and the specials are generous and delicious. I could not, for dietary reasons, finish my perfectly prepared linguini and seafood dinner and had to bring it home in a box. I think we all 4 did take boxes. There is a nice patio with an arbor where you can dine. Piano player too. I could have quit at the point of soup and salad!

We stopped for lunch--our first visit. Really attractive 50's décor and very clean place. Got a nice booth which was very comfortable. Delightful lady waited on us and we enjoyed her conversation and great service. Excellent traditional club sandwich and super chicken strips. Curly fries are very very good -- you'll want to finish them all even through the portion size is more than you should need!
