Stopped in on the way back into Windsor after a drive in the county. The service was good, staff was friendly. It has a very roadhouse/pub feel to it, but is still a place families will enjoy. The food was very good as well - typical pub fare (burgers, wings, etc.).I think this would be a great place to watch a sporting event, or to have your team stop in for a bite and drinks.Hi TJCams, thank you so much for leaving a review! We work really hard to offer great food in the best possible environment. We’re thrilled you enjoyed your visit with us and we can’t wait to see you again soon!

A local recommended that this place had good eats. The setting as per the title is spectacular. The restaurant/clubhouse is large and brand new. They have a good and varied menu, very reasonably priced, but with a new facility and seasonal hours, they haven't quite gotten into a rhythm yet to be a great place to eat. We sat outside as it was a nice cool day and the AC inside was on the cold side. Beautiful gardens, rockery and ponds surrounded us. We were really looking forward to this. I ordered the onion rings as an appetizer and for an entrée, the battered haddock and chips. My wife ordered the Chicken apple, bacon, walnut spinach salad. My entrée arrived first and to my surprise was pan fried (so they said...it actually looked oven done), so I sent it back. As for my wife's order, over half of the spinach was not only wilted, but slimy. A chef should not miss this sort of thing with normal care. My appetizer arrived last and was missing the dips.Yes, it was disappointing, but not unsalvageable. My hope is that the kitchen receives better supervision in the future as this could be a real gem in the area.

When outside in the county between harrow and amherstburg, not really sure where to go for breakfast. But as part of the tour county road 50 weekend, started with breakfast here at the intersection of Hwy 18. I have driven by this business and have always thought it was a convenience store and did not realize there is a restaurant inside. You do enter through the variety store with the kitchen in the back. The decor is rustic country. The menu selection has something for everyone and everything is made fresh with mom in the kitchen and dad watching the variety store. When we visited on Sunday morning, it was busy and service can be slow. The food is good, location is easy to find and is a good spot being close to harrow and holiday beach. I do wish they do them out and will visit again for breakfast if I find myself visiting in the area.

The 4 of us ordered the fish and fries lunch special. The fish portion was not really big enough to satisfy our hungers. Mine was literally 6 bites. Disappointed since nearby, they tout themselves the Walleye Capital of Canada. This restaurant is old and quaint but is kept up. Probably won't be back.

Deluxe Restaurant

The Deluxe Restaurant is the best diner in Essex County. The eggs benedict are the best around hands down. This place has been a town icon for decades. Ryan the chef/ownwr has dinners on a Friday evening every few months featuring prime rib or another great meal. They sell out everytime. Staff are amazing. Bonnie has worked there for more than 30 years! She knows every single person who walks through the doors and greets everyone with a friendly hello. Essex wouldn't be the same without the Deluxe.

The food at Garfield's is homemade, fresh and very good. We enjoyed a really nice lunch one afternoon in the off season. This is a place that is super busy in the warmer weather with its convenient location on County Road 50 near Colchester beach.

This is a bustling place even for a late lunch. The staff is friendly, although easily overwhelmed by the demands of some regulars. As non-regulars, we had to wait quite a while before placing our order, just because, our waitress was busy cleaning a table for people who wanted to sit by the window when there was a clean and free table available near the bar.The menu is typical bar food, with very few vegetarian or vegan options outside of the salads. I made the wrong choice, I went with a soup and salad combo. The spinach soup was extremely watery, with plenty of broth but very little spinach. The salad featured too many caramelized apples, which tipped the sweetness scales into oversweet. I don't like ordering something that I can do better at home. Otherwise, my partner really enjoyed his sandwich, which he said, he would not be able to reproduce at home. All in all, it was a very good experience. I guess I just made the wrong selection.
