We ate here the Canada Day weekend. I have reviewed this before and had great things to say.. not this time though. Not sure why the food was not as good as before. To begin with the tea was served in a plastic "water" glass! Beef negimaki was cold and the beef tough, miso soup no flavour, dynamite roll not as good as before and the tempura not crunchy. Wondering if there is a new chef! Anyway, the other items were passable. Service was great as usual.
This restaurant has Japanese chefs and wait staff. It also has the best omakase (chef's special) sushi east of Zen in Scarborough, consisting of 10 fresh delicacies artistically presented on a petrified wood serving board for $22. The cooked food is also great, and the prices ar low. For example, at $14 the Isoyaki Hot Plate is a cast iron plate with grilled shrimps, scallop, salmon, calamari and a variety of vegetables and rice. For $17, you get a large, perfectly cooked piece of Black Cod with vegetables and rice. There are many interesting appetizers in the $7 range, and miso soup is $2.50.I highly recommend Kobo Gourmet when you want to try authentic, quality Japanese food, or even just great cooked seafood, at very reasonable prices.
My husband and I were looking for early dinner fare, and pizza was just not the option today. This restaurant recently opened up, and since another Japanese restaurant closed south of the area, we thought we would give this a try and see what it was like. We were not disappointed. Both of us had the chicken teriyaki (with a generous scoop of sticky rice); we also ordered the California rolls and the chicken tempura rolls. My husband also had the miso soup. Everything was better than expected. I liked the fact that since we don't get a knife, the chicken was sliced into bite-sized pieces (chopsticks were provided as well). Their all-you-can-eat dinner price of $19.99 for an adult seems very reasonable, and we will consider that next time. The décor is a little lacking, but the food made up for it. It was nice and light, and did not leave us feeling stuffed. We will definitely be returning.

Went here for dinner. Ample menu, generally good food, with some minor exceptions. Come very hungry, because youâll leave very full. We had at least one dish from most categories. Service is good, too.
Steak and seafood cooked on a Hibachi Grill. Now until June 30,2016 receive 20% OFF of your order! Food is made fresh right before your eyes.
This restaurant has great reviews on google and yelp, so I decided to give them a try. Everyone was right, the food was fantastic. I got the Hibachi steak and shrimp, it came with vegetables, fried choice(you can get steamed if you prefer) and a spring roll. The steak was sauteed with mushrooms and very tender. The shrimp were cooked to perfection with great flavor. They have a special sauce called Yum Yum sauce. It's hard to explain but its amazing! You need to try it for yourself. Everything is cooked to order, I highly recommend this place if you would like a take out meal that feels home cooked.

We had dinner a few weeks ago at this relatively small restaurant. Itâs somewhat popular so probably good to have a reservation. Menu selection is OK, but nothing really unique. We had many of the typical items: large sushi and rolls boat (with miso soup & salad) veggie tempura, edemame, and the Tako Yaki balls. Everything was decent but nothing had that wow factor. Some of the rolls werenât of even size and unravelling. Plenty of food for the three of us, but we were pretty hungry. Ended up costing just a bit more than typical AYCE place, but quality was a little better. Service was OK. Iâd say itâs a solid 7.5/10.
