Los Vaqueros Mexican Restaurant

I don't like or want to bash. This restaurant was ok. The chips and salsa were good. The cheese sauce served with it was not. My plate had an enchilada and a soft cheese taco. The chili on the enchilada tasted like canned chili. Unfortunately the soft cheese taco had the same cheese sauce as the chips. The rice was good. The service was ok. The prices were fair. I probably wont return.

Toledo's Mexican Grill

We were in Mustang for a baseball tournament and happened to find Toledo’s via TripAdvisor. It’s a little hidden behind an Italian restaurant so be sure to go behind that to see Toledo’s.As soon as we walked in I had a feeling t would be great. It smelled like my grandma’s house when she would make fresh flour tortillas every Sunday morning for breakfast. I asked them if they make fresh tortillas and they confirmed it. They brought fresh chips perfectly salted, tasty salsa and queso. They also asked if we wanted flour tortillas which most places never do. They tasted just like my grandma’s which made my heart happy. My son had their crispy tacos and they actually used their soft corn tortillas and then fried those instead of using crummy shells like Taco Bell or the ones you get in the store. He had steamed pinto beans which had good flavor and weren’t heavily salted like a lot of Mexican restaurants do. That allowed the flavor of the beans to come through. My other son and I shared an enchilada plate. He got shredded beef which was flavorful and I got spinach. It was fresh spinach and not the terrible frozen spinach. They have several sides to choose from and allow you to choose two of them with their plates, rather than dictating that you get rice and refried beans. We chose their rice and their chino beans. They had bits of onions, jalapeños, a few bits of diced tomatoes, and little bits of meat in them. Then they fry the beans. They were so delicious! I have never had beans like this but I want to make some now! The staff was very friendly as well. It would be worth the 45 minute drive for us to eat here again!

Have always enjoyed Taco Mayo in Mustang. Fresh Food. Usually very clean and well maintained inside. When I want "junk" food and eat a lot, I want Taco Mayo. Like the salsa bar!
