With hundreds of man-made lakes, state parks, casinos, museums and nightlife and dining opportunities in revitalized downtown areas in Oklahoma City and Tulsa, there is a lot to see and do in the Sooner State. The state is dotted with phenomenal lakes where swimming, boating and bass fishing are the most desired activities. Some of the state’s most popular lakes include Broken Bow Lake located near the Quachita Mountains; Grand Lake in the northeastern corner of the state at the foothills of the Ozark Mountains and Lake Murray in the hills in the southern part of the state.
While the state is known for its many outdoor activities like great fishing, golf, hiking, canoeing and boating, make sure you don’t overlook its fantastic museums. Heading the list are Gilcrease Museum in Tulsa, featuring the world’s largest collection of art and artifacts from the American West; the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum in Oklahoma City, which tells the story of the American Cowboy; and the Oklahoma City Museum of Art, which has a permanent collection of American and European art. A venerable family favorite activity is Frontier City Amusement Park in Oklahoma City, which has dozens of rides and shows.

We’ve stayed here 2 times now. Once in the travel trailer and once in the cabin on the creek side. We thoroughly enjoy riding the trails with our sxs. The trails are well mark and you can cross the highway and continue on more trails. Across the highway there are actually some falls but not running when we were there. We did spend a lot of time enjoying the beautiful creek both at the cabin and across the road. Beautiful to just sit and relax! Tim and Christine are both very nice people. Always anxious to help in anyway! Tim is a fantastic cook so if you go have him cook for you at least once! I promise you won’t be disappointed. Just wonderful friendly folks! We’ll return every chance we get!

Not huge but just big enough to make you feel like you've been out in nature. Ranger office was TINY and signs to social distance were ignored. Ranger at the desk not wearing mask & only a few feet all the way around for distance. Another person came in not wearing a mask and just stood in the doorway so was difficult to get by & still feel safe. We didn't get good information about the trails & had to go back for clearer instructions. Poor trail markings. A simple sign = helpful for hikers find their way. There was some debris around in the woods (cups, etc.) & a dirty diaper rolled up at the Waterfalls trail left by the water's edge. The cabins looked very nice and well spaced apart. Spaces available for RV's and tents in another area. The lake was very pretty but the trail, was not marked . Signs would be helpful! The trees were just showing a hint of color change, although I wouldn't expect the many oaks there to be brightly colored, more a brownish yellow. The restroom facilities at the ranger office were closed. Had to go down by the pool area to find an open restroom. The doors did not close or lock to the stall. However, it was pretty clean and the water in the sink was actually hot. Picnic tables down at the pool area as well as a playground for kids. All in all a nice little getaway for the day but would love to see some tiny improvements for the trail markings (and more waste cans!) as well as a better "map" given to visitors. We found the map very confusing.

I was raised only a few miles from the ranch but no longer live in that area. Went back for a family reunion. What a fantastic place ! So many fun things to do. The kids absolutely loved this place. Will definitely go back

Great base camp for hiking Black Mesa and surrounding attractions, or to just sit outside, read a book and listen to the birds. A couple of things not previously mentioned or on website. Delicious tap water comes from a spring on the property, so no need to haul bottled water. The two cabins share a propane grill. No wifi but can utilize cellular data. A couple of CDs are provided, but you might bring your favorite if you want to watch a movie at night. Take time to visit with the owners; they are very interesting people. They have relics on site which you would normally find in a museum. If you get the opportunity for them to take you on a tour of the bluffs, you will see numerous ancient carvings, as well as Santa Fe Trail travelers signatures.

Have you ever longed to experience the days your grandparents talked about? It was a time when the grass was green and the air was fresh. The meals were gathered from the garden in the morning and prepared by hand for supper that night. The stars weren't dimmed by city lights and you fell asleep with the windows open listening to the crickets, coyotes and hounds fussin’ about who ruled the night. Wish no more as you can now experience all this in the luxurious comfort of Oklahoma’s newest agritourism venture, the Buffalo Creek Guest Ranch.
Attended a wedding for friends here last year. Great property. The Setting is amazing with mountain views and green pastures. The owners are great people and very friendly. Has a pool and small banquet hall and the food is amazing.
