Clearly not #1 restaurant in Alice Springs for nothing! We're staying at DoubleTree by Hilton, and were thrilled this restaurant was in-house.Service was spectacular - indeed my wife and I rate Eunice one of the best waitresses we've every experienced anywhere in the world! Other members of the team equally attentive and helpful.Vegetarian spring rolls to die for - butter chicken top class and a notch above standard fare - lamb in the rogan josh was slightly dry but the sauce flavours were terrific. (That's the only thing stopping a 5 start rating for food.)We were served quickly, drinks turned up quickly, water was refilled quickly - with Eunice regularly checking we were OK.Here's the warning though - this restaurant is clearly popular with guests and town folk - for both dine in and takeaway. BOOK IN ADVANCE TO AVOID DISAPPOINTMENT!Another safety tip - when busy (as it was tonight) it seems to be very noisy inside. There is the option however to sit outside in the hotel foyer. This was much quieter, and there was no difference in service level.

Opened at 6pm and we were there at 6:05. First couple in, but 3 others followed close behind.Despite the negative reviews, we visited to try the food.We watched all the takeaway orders get served before us, then after the last takeaway order was handed over, all 4 couples including ourselves were served our meals. 75 minutes it took. The staff’s children were occupying the inside restaurant, so most guest sat outside. The chicken was delicious, but the beef korma was not.I recommend you order takeaway, then when handed it, ask to sitdown and eat, as takeout is clearly the priority.

So everything was nice during my experience dining here, until one of the employees who was wearing a middle eastern pajama kept coughing near the kitchen and then when he got up to stand in the dining room he reached his hand in the back of his pants to scratch his butt (or bum) in front of us! Not only that but the palao was terrible! I asked the little asian girl that was the cashier/waitress/manager to please do something with the palao. I had told her that I've been all over the middle east in the past 8 years and I've never experienced a palao that was a sweet rice soup or a rice pudding such as the one I was served there. All she told me was that she is not Indian so she doesn't know anything. REALLY???? What kind of answer is THAT????! There were never any offer of returning the food for a refund or exchange for something else. UNBELIEVABLE... This is the kind of customer service they have??? So as I was paying for my dinner at the cashier (in Alice Springs not many businesses provide FULL services such as bringing the customer the bill/check even if they claim they are "Fine Dine") one of the chefs came out to talk with me. He apologizes for the palao and that he kept this recipe from a former chef that worked there.... I can't believe what these people come up with for answers. But still there were no offers of a refund or exchange for customer Satisfaction. So I just said I recommend you to change it and I will write a review for your restaurant and my experiences here.Other than that the other dishes were pretty good....

Flavours of India

We ordered a curry & vegetarian samosas from Flavours of India. The curry was sub-par & the samosas contained an unidentified meat. We’ve been throwing up since dinner. We notified the restaurant who offered no refund, but requested we return the food—a difficult feat when curled over a toilet debating which end wants its turn.Luckily we’ve preserved a samosa (the things taste of cardboard, so eating all four was unjustifiable) which we’re handing over to NTG.I don’t like to leave garbage reviews, but garbage food and a garbage response justify this in its entirety. If you’re going to run a restaurant, make some effort to ensure the food you’re serving isn’t poisonous.Do not risk the Flavours of India.
