I've eaten here several times lately and each time I'm disappointed with the employees. The food tastes fine, but the employees don't look real excited about being there. You can hardly hear the guy taking your order and the other two looked extremely disinterested in interacting with customers. I haven't had any problem with the quality of the food, but I must say the chicken salad sandwich is pretty bland. The one at Arby's is much better. The management needs to train their employees better and pick people that really want to work there.

We visited with a groupon which was tea for two. Reg. price $34.99. Choice of 3 out of 7 finger sandwiches. Scones, pumpkin bread, jelly & clotted cream. Tea or lemonade. And champagne. The owner was the cook, who came out in her dirty apron to ask how everything was, I never answered the list of wrongs would have taken to long. The professional atmosphere that the brochure speaks of was not there on this day. Our waitress wearing flip-flops knew nothing about the menu, brought us the wrong sandwiches. A plastic carafe of water for our tea that was luke warm. Dirty tea cups. One scone cut in half to share no choice of jam, whipped cream not clotted cream. Told us right off the bat the champagne would not be included like the groupon said it would. It took 2 hours and there were only 4 tables occupied. Art was tasteful and tacky mixed, less would be better. Rosters in the bathroom out of place. I would love to see improvement it could be great. Teapots for a starter teabags way to messy.

First the good news... They have coke products. The restaurant is large and nicely decorated. Our concerns were with service and the meals. From sitting until our order was taken was 15 minutes. There was only one other table in the restaurant. Hubby had beef tacos and was very pleased. Chips served quickly and hot. Salsa was good. I ordered a burrito that was to be covered in cheese sauce. It came covered in poblamo sauce. When I asked the waiter he said "it's not spicy". I told him, "I like spicy and that wasn't the problem, I don't like it. " He just shrugged his shoulder and said oh and walked off. I checked the menu to confirm, it only said cheese sauce. Prices moderate. Relaxing atmosphere. Will not be back.

On a whim my husband and I followed the signs out to the country to Lane's seafood and steakhouse. What a surprise! The restaurant was very nice the service was very good and the impromptu conversation with the owner was delightful. I had a great tasting steak and my husband had the shrimp. Delish! Definitely will go back. Only open Wednesday through Sunday.

A friend & my self enjoyed a wonderful lunch at Brick & Mortar. I ordered the grilled chicken salad. This was one of the very best salads I have had anywhere. The ingredients were fresh!! Loved it. My friend had the "Rachel"....which was the Turkey Reuben. She thoroughly loved it. This restaurant also serves home made desserts. The list written on the chalkboard sitting on the counter sounded sooo scrumptious. If I was not trying to diet, I would have dived right in. Also, our waiter was soo nice, very attentive & engaged us in conversation. We will be back.

Texas Pit BBQ is less than a mile from my parents house; I can't believe it took so long for me to finally drop in and get something to eat. In this case, we were passing by while coming home from the coast, didn't bother to visit my parents, but figured that it would make for a pretty good dinner. No one wanted to cook after a long trip, after all.Outside and inside, the place smells heavenly. The smell of smoke and meat takes me to my happy place. Within, I ordered a 2 meat plate and a 3 meat plate and selected a combination of meats and sides to basically construct a glorified sampler plate. Everything looked good and I wanted to try as much as I can. I also grabbed a bag of pork rinds (they make their own there) and took our goodies to the house. We snacked on the pork rinds on the way to the house and they are delish.Of the meats I sampled, I thought the smoked turkey was the best of the bunch. Full of flavor and not dry, it was my personal favorite. A lot of the sides were solid and didn't detract from the meat. I also found out that we were missing a side of hushpuppies, which was disappointing. On the second day, the food still tastes plenty good. It can be a little pricey if you're not careful or if you're a glutton for meat and you just need to have more. They do provide a pretty solid amount of food, but the opinion of 'enough food' is always in the eye of the beholder. For the cost conscious, I definitely recommend getting a sandwich. I'll definitely be back to get more food. In the meantime, as we take the occasional trip to see the parents or drop off our kids for some needed relief, we'll swing by and get some pork rinds. Nom.
