Ive eaten here twice within a month, decided to give the benefit of the doubt after a poor first experience. This is a privately owned Dennys with a drinks license at best. Most of the offerings are fried or out of a packet. Vegetables are pretty hard to come by here, in fact at best its basic fried food. Wince was grossly overpriced, a $10 supermarket wine for $26! From the other reviews there are better places around town, so Im gonna try them before going here again.Hello Welltraveled. Sorry you had a disappointing experience at Matties. I wonder what you ordered? Though some of our appetizers are deep fried, most of our food is not, and only a few items (again, only appetizers) are "out of a packet" . For appetizers we offer fresh cucumbers n tomatoes with blue cheese and basalmic vinegar which is one of our best sellers and we have a section devoted to a "healthy menu". We apologize your servers were not able to help you find more suitable food to your liking on our extensive menu.

Stopped here for dinner and some drinks. We both had salads which were good. Tried a couple of their beers and they were also better than expected. Convenient to our hotel, they are known for their chicken wings. The excessively tattooed wait staff was a turn off.

I'm really enjoying their revamped menu. Their standard pizzas are diverse or you can order an old stand by. The thai chicken pizza is surprisingly good. Their tap beer menu is surprisingly deep but they also carry the domestic macro brews.

Gold Dust West Casino Elko

Reviewed By grammyHouston

We were staying at the new Hampton Inn and decided to walk over to the Gold Dust Casino Grill for dinner. Without high expectations, we were pleasantly surprised to have a very good meal. My husband enjoyed his prime rib and baked potato, but the veggies were over cooked. But for $10 bucks, it’s a real bargain. On recommendation of our server, Ashley, I had the wings from the appetizer menu. The 8 wings were plenty to make a meal and they were really tasty. We even got 2 free pieces of pie to take back to the room to enjoy later. Nothing special, but a nice late night treat. Ashley was personable, charming and very helpful with a beautiful smile. My only complaint would be the casino smoky smell. But, hey, we’re in a casino, so there’s that.Thank you for your review. We greatly appreciate it and will share it with our team. Glad you enjoyed both of our properties and looking forward to seeing you again real soon. Thanks again.

A nice restaurant in the back of the casino, but the smell of smoke still drifts in. It's too bad, because in every other respect it is a reasonably good restaurant. The food was good, the service was attentive, and the prices were reasonable, but if you don't want that smell of smoke while you dine, you should find somewhere else to go. If they could somehow close the restaurant in with a door or something like that, it would be a vast improvement.

Machi's Saloon & Grill

Stopped into Machi’s after reading the good reviews online. I arrived just past 6pm and was immediately greeted by a friendly staff member who indicated I could sit wherever I chose as there were just a handful of patrons. Dining alone, I took a seat at the bar and was welcomed by a friendly bartender. I looked over the menu (lots of interesting items to choose from) and decided to have a prime rib which came with a side of garlic mashed potatoes, steamed veggies and a very nice side (Caesar) salad. I enjoyed a glass of red wine with my supper. Everything was delicious and my prime rib was cooked exactly as I had specified. Prices are very reasonable and portions are quite large. The bar staff checked in periodically to see how I was and engaged in some friendly banter with this ‘lone stranger.’ I was made to feel most welcome here and most attractive the urban-rustic atmosphere provided a comfortable, relaxed environment for me to enjoy my evening meal.Thank you for the review. Glad you enjoyed your stay.
