Dishonest Staff Double Charges for Room
Reviewed By AJS512009We booked our stay on hotels.com, paying for the room upfront. Upon arrival, staff insisted that we had not paid for the room, despite being shown the receipt from the website. We provided our credit card information again, and ultimately were double charged. After contacting Rogers House about the problem, we were told the matter had to be address through hotels.com. After reporting the issue to hotels.com, we were told the property will not respond.

Comfortable place to stay
Reviewed By Linda7132907The staff were very friendly & helpful. The room was very clean & tidy. There was even a phone book! Haven't seen a phone book in quite a while. The wifi worked great. Didn't have to sign on every time I returned to the room (unlike some more expensive name brand hotels)!! Nice breakfast, muffins, bagels, coffee. The bedside lamps had plug ins for phone charging. The entire building is somewhat worn-wooking. Maybe a coat of paint on the doors would spruce things up. But overall I liked staying there. Liked not having to pay for amenities I don't use (pool, gym, office). Would stay here again if I'm ever in York NE.

Reviewed By oldgrizzledveteranJust back from an outstanding experience at Comstock Lodge. Went with three college grad school classmates for a "mini reunion" and pheasant hunt. The hosts are terrific people--Mitch, Roxanne, and Emily --could not be more gracious and welcoming. Accommodations are first rate, and the meals (Emily is a great chef) were superb. The pheasant were flying and their two dogs, Deuce and Gracie, did a fantastic job, worked hard, and kept us in the pheasants all day. This is a really neat place for family and/or friends to gather....the scenery around the lodge is lovely as well.

Reviewed By cantelowBeds were great and the 2 rooms we had were spacious and comfortable. The shower could be updated but worked fine. Everything was very clean and the staff member who showed us our rooms was informative and extra friendly. We will definitely stay here again!

Reviewed By patriciapJ8304KRWe left something in our room when we checked out. I called as soon as we got home and noticed we had. Called the motel and she would look for it. She said she found the can containing the money in the dumpster and it was empty. The day before she asked about the coins that were in it- funny now it is empty. Our room was always locked and we were in it except for several hours when we attended a wedding. The door was shut tightly when we attended the wedding. The manager said she checked the cameras- funny thing all were working except the one in our hall. DO NOT LEAVE ANYTHING OF VALUE IN YOUR ROOM. Someone with sticky fingers works here!

Reviewed By QuestoviaWell located across from a couple of restaurants, this is an average style hotel with basic rooms, but clean and decently comfortable. Nothing fancy, and no breakfast, but they did have hot coffee in the lobby.

I booked 2 smoking rooms, I chose this motel based on the higher reviews the price and the fact that it allowed pets thought it would be a quaint little motel. I booked this a few months in advance and I used the zip app to purchase rooms. Well the night before the owner messaged me asking if I meant to book a smoking room, no big deal I said yes. Well the next day I get an email from the place that I booked this through and my payment info was declined do to card being expired, if you know this zip app the card expires if not used by a certain time. She calls me and tells me this, I'm driving so I couldn't give her a card to use, but I told her I would have my girlfriend call her and get it taken care of, which my girlfriend did, problem solved. Okay the outside, the building is old a outdated it's located on a busy street close to a lot of restaurants and very convenient walking distance. ( but due to this this place has a lot of noise I mean a lot! Not her fault but take that into consideration if you book here) Now for the rooms... We weren't expecting a 5 star place I mean it was a smoking room, but this room I couldn't even call it a 0 star room, it had mold on the ceiling that it looked like they painted over( her response was it was from the wall being darker and the ceiling being white and it was over lap... It wasn't) found ants and cockroachs in room the bed frame was busted ( when I say frame I mean the leg of the bed, they had taken duct tape and tried fixing the leg with that. The shower when turned on you have to pull a valve for the water to come out of the shower head, when valve was pulled water started spraying from the faucet by the wall instead of the shower head. I tightened the faucet so it would stop spraying and start spraying from the shower head. Now the linen part of the review, the towels had smelled like they were washed then left in the washer for a day or 2 before putting them in the drier, the sheets had burn marks in them the pillow cases were stained. We should have just left right then and there but it was late. The next morning I get up and head out to do the thing I had come to this town for. When I walked out, there was a vehicle with people sleeping in it ( her response was they didn't have the money for deposit for pets so they slept in the vehicle with the pets) I get a message from the place I had booked this through asking me how the process was and how the rooms were. I wrote a response with the problems I had in countered. And that's when it got really bad. They owner messaged me through the booking company. I didn't reposned right away. The owner then started messaging me on my personal phone. Again I didn't respond I was busy, she then started messaging my girlfriend on her personal phone. My girlfriend and talked about this and we decided we would just go to a different place and check out of there, we weren't asking for a refund or anything, we just wanted to leave! Well after the graduation I had attended we went back to go check out, I was mad so it was best not for me to speak to this owner so my girlfriend went in to check out. While in there the owner and who my girlfriend thought was her husband ( later to find out was her son... I know I shouldn't have to add this part but I have to) was very confrontational. My girlfriend said she didn't have time for this and wasn't going to argue about it, we weren't happy with the rooms and just wanted to leave(again we wasn't asking for a refund) after this had happened the owner then messaged my girlfriend again after we had left! Wait there's more! I wrote a review on google( which she flagged and had removed) I then remembered the messages through the booking agent that she had sent me. I open them up and responded to them. ( since I'm only allowed to post 10 images, I posted the Google review and some of the messages she sent ) so since my Google review got flagged my girlfriend posted a review. The owner then responded that she had no one by that name ever stay at her establishment! But yet was calling her out saying she used a fake name ( my girlfriend checked into this place, name was not fake) the owner then flagged that message and had it removed. Girlfriend went back and did another review last I checked it was still there. So to sum it up, the reason I recommend not ever staying her, is the owner becomes very rude and starts slandering you if you don't leave a good review. That and the rooms are really really in poor shape.

Prairie Creek Inn is only 5 miles east of Lincoln, with easy access off 'O' Street, Highway 2, 34, and I-80. Located on a working farm, the campus includes: The "Leavitt House", a Local Landmark and Historic Site, built in 1911, with a very interesting history. It sleeps up to 16 in 6 bedrooms. The Cottage House is the original 1900 farm house, and has been completely remodeled into 2 suites, each sleeping at least 4, all with private bathrooms. The Lake Lodge, with 2 suites, each sleeping at least 4, all with private bathrooms, is at the edge of the lake and surrounded on all 4 sides by a cedar tree 'forest'. The Golden Sunset Farm Barn, just completely remodeled with a balcony, dance floor, and 4 restrooms is great for receptions, dances, and music events up to 299. The overall farm has a 12 acre lake, 2 1/2 miles of hiking trails, 3 acre native prairie, and 30 acres of trees. We are 1 mile from the Mopac Trail which goes from Lincoln east past Elmwood, on the way to Omaha.
Quiet and scenic getaway
Reviewed By michaelfG7903FHMy wife and I stayed over Labor Day weekend and enjoyed a relaxing and peaceful stay at the lodge. The host (Lesa) was friendly, accommodations were clean and breakfast was tasty. As a bonus, the fishing at the private lake was terrific!

Reviewed By R5716WPpeggybTo start with this room smelled so bad, had that very, very old smoke smell. The air conditioner was caked with dust. the worst part was in the bathroom, it had a window that had cardboard taped over half of it. We left right after seeing the window. Unfortunately they are fighting on refunding us our money. The office staff/owner were very polite until we let them know we would not be staying the night and we asked for our money back.

Reviewed By HudwinAfter riding all day on a motorcycle trip, I sought a quiet and comfortable overnight room. Western Holiday provided it. I camped at a KOA previously , and I sought a bath and a comfortable bed for the night at a reasonable price. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Everything was walking distance nearby in this beautiful lakeside town. Highly recommend.
