Recently visited this amazing restaurant on a charming side street downtown. It was not where we initially planned to eat (bayside seafood place) but were thrilled we changed our mind. The wine list is top notch and they take advantage of the fresh seafood in town to offer an unbelievable sashimi/watermelon special and unbelievable octopus. Staff were uniformly friendly and helpful.

Everything about our dinner experience here was fantastic. The staff were all friendly, the food and drinks were delicious and everything was served in a timely manner. The place itself is very cozy and well appointed; we were lucky enough to snag a table for two at a window and it was nice watching the Portsmouth world go by. I would definitely recommend this establishment for an upscale, but not stuffy, evening out. We will certainly be dining here again in the future!

Raleigh features modern New England cuisine with a focus on the seasons. We take pride in our natural wine, craft beer, and classic cocktail selection.
My husband and I stopped in here for a glass of wine before dinner reservations elsewhere on a Saturday night. The atmosphere was great and the service friendly and attentive. We noticed they had a Sunday brunch (with bottomless mimosas!) with a great looking menu so we made a reservation for the next day. When we were having our wine we mentioned we were in Portsmouth for the night to celebrate my husband's birthday the following day. The next day when we came in for brunch we were greeted with a big "happy birthday" and flutes of champagne. The brunch was amazing. I had the crab Benedict and my husband had the prime rib hash. Both of them were amazing! We can't wait to go back!

We stopped in for dinner and drinks before a Prescott Park concert. I had the house margarita and the appetizer bowl of pasta with marinara sauce; he had a Manhattan and the chicken parmesan. Both meals came with fresh baked bread and dipping oil. Everything was great! The portions here are always larger than normal, with enough to take home for another meal, and prices are very reasonable for Portsmouth. We like the bar atmosphere in this historic building, with large windows overlooking State Street.
