We have been going to the Crab Cooker in Newport Beach for 50 years. We were sorry to hear they had to rebuild the building and it was closed. We went to the one in Tustin. This one doesn't have quite the atmosphere and the food was not quite as good. That being said, the cracked crab was very sweet. the romano potatoes were very good. The coleslaw not very flavorful. Still a good place to get crab.

Really is an old-style New York Jewish deli and restaurant and without doubt the best in Orange county. We were seated right away and given a complimentary bowl of half-done pickles while we worked out our drink's. Ordered a pint of Brown, hefeweizen along with screwdriver and Ice tea. The waitress was more mature, and seemed to know what we want before we order it (Just like Mother). I had a small matzo ball soup with liver and onions, and my companions ordered, steak and eggs, Ruben with Pastrami and a side of potato latkes which were a little over done, but editable with the applesauce and sour cream. Jewish food at its best is not spicy, so if you want extra flavor just add it yourself. Being a great dessert fan, I just had to finish with their homemade bread pudding, ice cream and brandy sauce, Must say the interior decorations had seen better years, but thatâs part of its charm, the lack of it.!TIP: You got to try the Matzo ball soup.

It's a buffet. You probably already knew that. We stopped for lunch on a Tuesday because we were in the area. We found the salad ingredients plentiful, of wide variety and very fresh. The soups were all very good although we especially liked the tomatoe and cream of mushroom. The foccacia with rosemary was very tasty. There is a small dessert bar. The restaurant itself seemed very clean but the men's restroom could stand to be overhauled or at least thoroughly cleaned. Friendly staff. Frankly, we had forgotten about Souplantation, but we will be back.
