Absolutely fabulous meal and service. My husband and I visited for dinner, the service was excellent, the ladies friendly and attentive. We had the seafood spaghetti and the seafood pizza, scrumptious. Lovely selection of wines and craft beer. Reasonable prices for the quality of food. Would definitely recommend!!

This is the second time I've been to Parkside for breakfast, with two different groups of people, and I've booked in for my third brekky next weekend (that pretty much tells the story.) The menu selection is small, which is good, because they've focussed on producing excellence. Between we four we sampled half the menu and every meal was delicious. Great service from Kristie who was observant and available whenever we needed anything, but not hovering - that great balance that natural hospitality stars seem to effortlessly achieve. The views from Parkside are gorgeous, no matter the weather. Highly recommended for great food, great service and a great outlook.Thank you Leanne for visiting Parkside Bar and Kitchen and for your recommendation - much appreciated! We have an amazing team of hospitality professionals delivering quality food and exceptional service. Kristie will be delighted the service she provided met with your expectation and that you enjoyed your dining experience. We're definitely spoilt with our location overlooking Georges Bay - many of our guests linger after breakfast and lunch just to soak in the view.We look forward to welcoming you again on Sunday - all the best, Meredith

After finding our booked accommodation rather less than expected, we were delighted to find The Wharf Bar and Kitchen on our escape walk. We booked for dinner and, when we returned a little earlier than expected, were greeted warmly and offered our table. We chose to first have a cocktail in the bar and, to our delight, a vodka martini was happily shaken for us. The views from this place are magical and the food was excellent. The staff are young and delightful and, all in all, this was the best thing about St Helens for us. It really made our overnight stop worth doing.

Nina Restaurant and Tapas Bar

Our experience of Nina's was a somewhat odd affair. The best part of the evening was the warm welcome from the gregarious and friendly maitre'd upon walking in the door. The restaurant has high ceilings and the lighting was something akin to an interrogation room--bright halogens from overhead. Thankfully, the music was kept to a minimum as the space is reverberant. The meal started off well enough with zucchini bruschetta on either sourdough or rye bread, topped with fresh field greens. The mains were another matter. My wife ordered the catch of the day--orange roughy. It was baked and served in a ramekin with smoked cheddar and cream sauce. Nice fare for a chilly winter evening. The presentation was appealing but the results were, and I quote, "gloppy and tasteless." I ordered the seafood pasta which was a dish in search of self. There were a couple of prawns and some slices of salmon atop spaghetti. The dish seemed to have a soy base (or was just salty and brownish tinged) along with capers and olives and a scattering of sprouts, dill and broccoli. In all, the flavours seemed to compete for attention, as if the recipe started in one direction and got lost on the way to the table. We always like to try local wines, and there are plenty of good options here in Tasmania. The Iron House pinot noir on offer was an excellent choice--a little richer than most pinots.Overall, Nina's was disappointingly underwhelming given the reviews.

The ever popular oysters at st Helens. It's not actually a proper place to eat, really not the most comfortable... They have a standing table and it's like a messy factory. Very fresh oysters though. Quickly ate and left - the whole visit lasted no more than 10 minutes?? Very fresh oysters nevertheless. They also supply to many restaurants so better off having it here instead of restaurants to get the best.
