Some would call it old-world charm, I would say old-fashioned. No surprises in the menu, clearly designed to serve a larger group. Not very well cooked either. Fish sauce too heavy and fat. Meat overcooked. Decent wines to pair the food.

We celebrated our wedding anniversary in this New restaurant in Egmond aan Zee.The atmosphere is very pleasant and the seating is great. There is a good choice of dishes at reasonable prices. The restaurant is also very good to visit with (young) children. The wine list shows a variey of good wines and they are reasonably prices.So this is certainly recommended after a day on the beach, when you want to enjoy the sunset with a good meal.Thank you very much Piet, it was a pleasure serving the family

Small menu with the typical combination of meals which we found everywhere in the Netherlands: the burger with french fries, fish of the day, salads and some Thai. Howevver: you can look into the kitchen, the meals are delicious and hot served and you get the impression that they cook fresh. From that perspective clear recommendation. The menu itself only in netherlands language. Staff can help, but not speaking German. Engaged, not perfect. It takes a bit untill they recognize that more drinking is needed, even forgot the order (happens). We found the sitting in the restaurant rather uncomfortable. outside you find a small "terrace" directly to the main street, which is indeed the main street to Alkmaar.

If you are up for it go for the surprise menu. Really nice dishes. A small, cosy and quite environment. Unfortunately not always to crowded, especially if you come later (after 7pm) in the evening you will end up being the last guest soon (after 10pm).

We come here every few months and its always great. The service is good and quick anf the food is delicious and afordable. For the vegetarians among us: they have an amazing vegetarian dish thay consists of small dishes. Its number 82 I believe. We will certainly come back.

The lifesize wooden ship inside the restaurant first put me off as being a silly tourist trap but this is actaully a nice place with friendly service and food prepared with fresh ingredients and by competent chefs. And not too pompous nor too casual. Also suitable for families. The one weakness might be the winelist that is made up of industrial wineries although none of these are bad wines.Thank you so very much for your appreciation of our restaurant, food and service. This was our first visit to Wildschut and opted for the Albert Heijn promotional menu. Although choice was limited we expected that but the promotion gave us a chance to try out the food at Wildschut and we were very impressed. A diverse selection of starters was exceptionally good and well presented. The main of entrecôte was nicely cooked and well presented on the plate. Desert was a nice finishing touch. Sides of bread, frites and salad made the whole meal very satisfying and of excellent value. Staff were excellent, giving very good service. Only slight negative was the noise level of conversation in the part of the restaurant we were in - sometimes difficult to hear each other across the table. Will definitely be back.

This restaurant is slightly at the edge of the historic centre, meaning removed from the tourist crowds. The staff was welcoming and very accommodating. We started with drinks (great beer from the island of Texel) and they prepared us a special cheese platter. We then had a variety of dishes, including a juicy and excellently prepared sirloin steak. The atmosphere is nice and quiet, and we left the hotel after digestives in a very good mood.
