Passed through Sneek during a weekend outing in Fryslân/Friesland and discovered this restaurant by sheer coincidence. Decided on the spot to risk it, and were rewarded with a surprisingly fine meal. Having had a buffet breakfast, we went for a salad meal, seafood for my wife and chicken for me. A full plate, a magnificent meal and able as well as friendly service. This place is a gem, a cut above most places - and that at a most affordable price. In a word, excellence!

What we liked about the menu is that you can get a smaller portion for three quarters of the price. So we had a starter and the main menu. Mine were excellent prepared. My son -in-low got seriously sick after his not well prepared steak hence the rating of 3. The service was friendly. The owner was very knowledgable about the 400 whiskeys.Dear Marijke,Thank you for your comments, we were very sorry to hear what happened to your son in law. You would not expect it when you enter this small restauant that looks lime an old Dutch pub, but the food is of very high quality.The menu is basedon traditional cooking, but often with a mkdern twist. Like the goat cheese salade where instead of using honey, the cheese was flavored with forrest berries, that made the friend who had ordered this cry that this was the best goat cheese salad she ever had.I had a classic, duck liver with apple and calvados which is perfect, as was the sole meuniere.A small but good selection of wines, and they served my favored white: St Clair Sauvignon blanc.And the bill will make you happy as well!

A warm welcome,We selected the 6 course meal with the wines.Good service throughout with fun explanations of the wines that accompanied each dish. Also the dishes were fully described and were all very enjoyable.Attention to allergy details for one of us was very professionally dealt with and did not distract the enjoyment of the meal. We couldnât wish for a better celebration of our 35th wedding anniversary. When visiting Holland again, we will definitely come back.

We had lunch here when we came of the ferry from Terschelling. The restaurant is nicely decorated and has a good atmosphere. Nice laid back music, friendly staff and many teas. We had a starter platter to share and the soup of the day. All very tasty and fresh. The coffee afterwards was als very good.Highly recommended for lunch in Harlingen.

My date took me out to this âupper classâ restaurant. We sat out in the conservatory, which looks absolutely gorgeous. Very modern and sleek.The restaurant offers good service and high quality food. The dishes are real eye-catchers: every course looked beautiful. The only thing was: I didnât enjoy the food so much. I felt like they were trying too hard. Putting so many flavours into such a tiny dish (I mean seriously, it was just one or two bites in a dish) is just too much!There was hardly any balance between the foods and flavours and I felt that they let these beautiful products go to waste by adding so much stuff. Personally I just like a good plate of real food. Nothing too fancy, just good flavours and enough food on my plate. So this restaurant and itâs eye-catching dishes are just not my cup of tea. But if youâre really into kickshaw and you have plenty of cash (itâs an expensive restaurant - fortunately my date was really nice ;)), this could be the place for you.

Nice cosy restaurant.Really well located.Absolutely delicious kitchen.I knew it was good. But I did not know it was SO good !Beautiful to look at. And extremely enjoyable. Joy for the eyes and the palate :)Basic ingredients really well selected.Nice wines to match the courses.The service is perfect. Super friendly and efficient team.We really had a super moment there.

Beautiful setting and a delicious meal! We had beef carpaccio, which was better than any I have had in Italy, with meaty, tasty spare ribs and a perfectly rare bavette of beef. Great service too! All in all a wonderful meal x

We totally agree that this is the best restaurant on Terschelling (as far as we've visited the restaurants). The staff is extremely helpfull and friendly. Served with alot of knowledge and sincere love for their meals. Good value for money: we paid 75eur for 1 starter, 2x main course, 2x desert and drinks.The food was fantastic; we had the meat as a starter, as main we choose the lamb (perfectly baked) and the beetroot with goatcheese salad (very tastefull). For desert we had the assorted local cheese, very tastefull. And also the custard with raspberry; great too! Last but not least, they have a good choice of wines. We will be back!

Having not been overly impressed with Leeuwarden as cultural capital of Europe, however we were delighted to find this little gem of a restaurant, the food was excellent- beautiful complimentary flavours with knowledgeable helpful staff, who were lovely and not intrusive. I would definitely recommend this restaurant and were we to visit the area again would make sure we visit. One of the best meals we have had in a very long time. Loved the concept of no menu, but they do ask when booking if there is anything you don't like or have an allergy to.
