Full On Craft Eats and Drinks

We found Full On Craft Eats and Drinks through TripAdvisor while we were in the Rockville area visiting a friend, and enjoyed our first lunch so much that we went back a second time. There are definitely some talented chefs in the kitchen. The sandwiches were excellent, and there are several vegetarian options on the menu, always a plus. The crab cake, meatloaf, and cauliflower sandwiches were all excellent, but the cauliflower was a special treat prepared with black bean hummus, pickled peppers, pepperjack cheese, and a smoky ranch dressing. The onion rings and fries were also very good, and wines by the glass are more than adequate. Service was very friendly and efficient.Full on Craft Eats is a small restaurant with a challenging parking lot, so be prepared. We went early for lunch the second time to avoid the crowd as much as possible.

This restaurant is comfortable and decent. Nothing to write home about but pretty easy to please visiting relatives and kids alike. My one big complaint is that it’s tough to find something with calories that would fit into a normal human’s daily allowance - lots of cheese and grease and big portions.

Paladar Rockville

Reviewed By BmoreStyle

Paladar means palate, or "taste" and it's the right moniker for a place that offers small shareable plates, fresh ingredients, and happy hour pricing with free parking in the heart of trendy Rockville. Our large group was set up in a large front room with plenty of room to mingle that the organizers had requested ahead of time. The service was pretty good, as it was difficult to track drinks as various people trickled in. The food orders and drinks were served quickly and the bill was lower than expected for so many plates on the table. I ordered the chicken empanadas, and they were quite good-- the trio was maybe not as crispy as I would have liked, but that was probably my fault because we were 15 ladies chatting. After happy hour timed out at 7pm, we did not see our server as much. This cluster of restaurants around Whole Foods is not the Rockville Pike I remember from my teenage years working at the nearby defunct White Flint mall. But then again, we did not call Rockville Pike "North Bethesda" then! There is outdoor seating which I would like to try on a return visit. Next time, I will be trying a rum flight.

Finnegan's Wake Irish Pub

Traditional Irish Pub boasting the Best whiskey and Spirits in the area, not to mention the "Perfect Pint". Everything off the menu is "House Made". Kitchen is open until 1 AM everyday.

Finnegan's Wake is a very good Irish pub. Are there really differences between Irish pubs? In the beer, not so much; in atmosphere and food there can be enormous differences. >>There are thousands of "Irish" pubs all over the world. Want a good range of beers in Amberg, Germany? Go to Kate's Irish Pub. >> Guinness draft is usually good-- Guinness shut down its London Brewery some years ago and although it still brews in Canada, Africa, Asia and the Carribean, we're assured the Guinness poured on draft in US and European pubs all comes from St James Gate in Dublin. The stouts, even the low gravity draft, travel well and the quality is more likely to vary by how long a keg sits in a pub rather than how long it takes to get there.>>So the pint at Finigans-- and it's a legitimate UK Imperial Pint-- is as good as you'd expect. The atmosphere is woody and pubby. But Finnegan's has several qualities that aren't always present. >>The easy one: the hours, which in our experience they adhere to. We last visitied them during one of the area's biggest snowstorms. Many restaurants were closed and even the local brewpub closed early. Finnegan's Wake continued to pour abudantly and cook well. >>The quality of the food separates them from the pack. A burger was quite tasty and that's not a given these days. The fish and chips were exceptional. I'd have rather had one large piece than the three smaller ones they served, but the outside was nicely crunchy and the inside moist and tender. The fish tasted fresh. >> Finally, as the snow swirled outside, a couple of exceptionally talented blues musicians warmed up the interior. Not Irish, but even an Irishman would have preferred their music over another rendition of the last unicorn. -------Bob & Ellie Tupper, authors, “Drinking In the Culture, Tuppers’ Guide to Exploring Great Beers in Europe.”Hi Bob, we can't thank you enough for taking the time to write a concise review. The Guinness kegs are indeed from Dublin. Cheers and thank you again !

Went for lunch.EXCELLENT golden margaritas! EXCELLENT duck tacos! EXCELLENT salsa! Awful tortilla chips. Thick, more like crackers. No flavor, no detectable salt. My husband had the Torta de Chicken (sic)Milanese and was rather disappointed. Huge, thick, white bread bun encasing some pretty good fillings, served with a giant side of French fries. Way too much carb. Blood glucose sugar express!!!Service was excellent across the board, will definitely be back.
