Reviews on Pub food in Hakodate, Hokkaido, Japan. Even if you can't be in Hakodate to see the cherry blossoms in May, you'll fall in love with the sunset views from Mount Hakodate. Surrounded by the ocean, it's no wonder Hakodate is known for fresh seafood. If you're up early, have domburi for breakfast at a restaurant in the Morning Market by Hakodate Station.

Love the live Octopus. They catch your order of octopus from the tank in front of you, clean them and serve while it is still moving. I never taste octopus that fresh and tasty. Seafood pot is great and service is excellent even they do not have english menu nor speaks english.

This is a restaurant in the Red Brick Warehouse shopping area. It offers western as well as Japanese food. The service is attentive. There is menu in English. The food is fine, but nothing very special. The prices are reasonable. It is s good place for shoppers to rest their tired feet and have a cold beer. The place seems quite crowded during meal times and requires reservation in advance. This is probably because there are not too many sit-down restaurants in the area.

What attracted us to try this place was the experience to try the fresh beer from a mini-brewery. The beautiful menu on the wall outside the entrance looked appetising & reasonably priced.BUT it is turned out to be very expensive indeed, & the food tasted average. The portions you get is a real joke! Probably just enough for a small kid. Probably the smallest portions we got so far in Japan. The beer is average & not cheap either.Skip this place. You can get better tasting & more reasonable dining options elsewhere.

A "Western" style counter bar, with a huge choice of rum and cocktails. The manager is a rum geek, regularly travelling to the Caribbean islands. His mojito is a must, with many variants depending on the season (fresh strawberry, kiwi, etc.) and mint leaves he picks from plants he grows by himslef.I was also very happy to find caipirinha made with real cachaça!
