This was a spur of the moment visit as we were heading home from visiting relatives. We arrived at about 6pm and were lucky to find street parking about 100 feet from the front door. Our first impression was positive; a small comfortable place with a lit fireplace and low lighting. However, the bar and the restaurant are not really separated, and the bar tv could easily be heard at our seats. That could be good or bad depending on one's reason for being there. The menu was typical bar food and was posted on the wall on small black and white boards. There weren't a lot of selections, but it was enough for this particular visit since we just wanted to try out the place. The single waiter was good, taking our order quickly and then checking on us several times during the meal. My wife ordered the french onion soup and a bowl of chili and I had the cheeseburger and steak fries. She loved the soup but when she asked for sour cream for the chili she was told they didn't have any. So, she reported the chili as just average. When the waiter took my order he told me that the house cheese was cheddar and I said ok. The burger was huge and cooked exactly the way I wanted (medium rare). The downside was that the cheddar cheese was really a spread and was heaped on the burger so that it was all I could taste when I took a bite. Halfway through I abandoned the bun and scraped off the remaining cheese. The steak fries were nothing special; just like the frozen fries one can buy in the supermarket. My wife had a glass of merlot ($6) and I had a coke. The entire bill came to a reasonable $32 excluding tip. The bottom line is that, for us, there are better burger/pub places in the area --- for instance, Howard's Cafe and J.C.'s. We probably won't be returning the Two Morrows.

I've been visiting Hoptron regularly since they opened and have yet to be disappointed. Other than being pretty noisy at times and not having any cell phone service inside, this is a great place. The owners have brought their slogan "respect beer" to new heights by always featuring many of the local brews fromgeographical Long Island while also finding great choices from around the country. I've found more new brews and breweries here than I can even count. Their food options are terrific as well - try a Crustique!

I had been to Meatball Place a couple times over the years, and always liked it, but with so many restaurants in Patchogue, I hadn't been there in a while. It's not that I forgot it, it's just that I don't usually think about it.But we had a Patchogue Business event there last week, and wow, was I pleasantly surprised! They completely outdid themselves to make us feel welcome. Excellent Appetizers, and a sampling of all their wonderful meatballs. Absolutely delicious, And great attentive staff service.I also noticed on flyers on the wall that they have good happy hour deals, and daily specials too. Will DEFINITELY be back with the family!

Public House 49

New Year's Day post movie and looking for a place for a late lunch. Very accommodating and Mia was the best server ever. We all stuck to the basics and everyone loved the food especially for the value. The continental burger is the best and I didn't think anyone could improve on a hamburger. A little dark inside and appears it could be noisy with a packed house. But one should definitely give it a try. I will be going back soon.

The Tap Room

Came here on Saturday late afternoon for a late lunch with my husband. The place is small. The bartender told us to take a seat anywhere. The front portion with the bar was full of high top tables already occupied and it was soooo noise. We went to the back area where they had a few tables, but not a real wall between the front and back. Also the back wasn't at all inviting, a bit dirty and drab. A waitress came up to us and gave us menus and asked us what we wanted to drink. They have a beer menu and she seemed annoyed we were asking questions. Also her hair was falling all in her face, extremely unprofessional for a waitress. She walked away while we continued to look at the menu, which wasn't anything big deal. Someone opened the back door by the kitchen and I ended up sitting in the frigid air. We walked out.

I recently took 2 of my Granddaughters here for lunch before a show at the theatre. It was pretty quiet, our waiter, Mike, was wonderful. He listened to my granddaughters when they were ordering and treated them like any other customer, offering suggestions along the way. Our food took a little while to come out, but was delicious! We had explained that we were seeing the play, and he asked if I had the tickets. I showed them to him and he gave us a 10% discount. I was very happy!

Catch, Oyster Bar

Reviewed By JHAllen

Looking for seafood in Patchogue, Trip Adviser suggested Catch and we weren't disappointed. Tired of calamari with boring marinara sauce. Try their Thai version! Tender pieces, including tentacles perfectly cooked then covered with a sweet and slightly spicy sauce accompanied by crisp apple pieces and walnuts. Outstanding! Their oyster selection is varied with offerings from various sources along the northern east coast. My wife had the baked oysters, large Fire Island Blues with a light sauce. I had the Naked Cowboy and Beach Blonde oysters on the half shell plump and with a mild brine taste. For my hot entree I had the clams casino cherry stones with the traditional toppings. Very tasty. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. It is a small establishment and while seating was quick on a Tuesday, seating might be tight on weekends.

Based on good reviews we decided to give it a try. We really enjoyed our 2 visits the past few weeks. The food is all made in house, including the breads. We enjoyed the artichokes, ribs, sea scallops, kale salad, crab cakes, and the drinks were awesome! Megan and Victoria took really good care of us and we we're pleased that the drinks were still great with a different staff member mixing them up during our return visit! Consistency is important and they nailed it. It's a cute little restaurant so plan ahead and get a reservation.

Bobbique

In the heart of downtown Patchogue, Bobbique serves diners from all over New York the best in Beer, Bourbon, Barbecue and Blue Entertainment. Few places can claim they truly encompass a unique culture of a community, and Bobbique's is one of those places.

We found our large family group of 18 adults without somewhere to eat, last minute on a Saturday night. While other restaurants we called pretty much didn’t even think about saying yes, the host and hostess at Bobbique made it happen for us! I suspect they reopened a dining room they had cleaned and closed already and may have asked a server to stay later than expected (based on my experience in restaurant work). Everyone we came into contact with was gracious, friendly and polite! Everyone in our large group really enjoyed his or her food! Lots of great apps but definitely loved the “sausage stuffed giant pretzel!” Lots if people got brisket and pulled pork and it was great. Excellent craft beer selection and the bartender made a fantastic margarita! Thanks to all for taking us last minute and making it a great event for us! We will be back and will definitely recommend you to others! We're so happy you had a great time with us and we were able to help get some food in your stomachs! Thank you so much for leaving us a review, we can't wait to have you all back soon!
