We enjoyed an excellent dinner at this nice little spot across from the historic Lutheran church. The establishment was well-appointed, both inside and out. You have to order inside, but a waitress will deliver your food to your table, whether you are inside or outside. The staff are all friendly and helpful.We enjoyed fish and a chicken pasta, as well as a salad. The wine served as excellent and the G&T (had to try a Norwegian gin!) was big enough to swim in.

Visited here last week after Xmas shopping with friends. We had some cakes and tea/coffee. Such a cosy atmosphere and beautiful interior... nice place to visit if you are in need of a good cup of coffee and a relaxed time.

This is a large place in a nice location. Been here a couple of times.The food is truly excellent. Last time, we a sharing menu, and the antipasti was awesome , both the pizza and the pasta were fantastic. Unfortunately this place is somewhat understaffed, so service is variable.

The pizzas are great. Great crust with good flour, tasty pizza sauces (both red and white) with subtle flavourings, and great toppings and cheeses. We are looking forward to trying out their pastas next time based on this nice experience. The location is also very good, just off the main town square (Torget) in adjunct of the historic Phoenix Hotel building. The layout and decor of the restaurant is nice, indoor and outdoor seating, a raised level, open kitchen, herbarium, meat locker on display. In fact it would compare favourably to another personal favourite pizza place here in Trondheim.But unfortunately, as good as it was, we found Frati just slightly less than excellent in almost every measure, except for service, which was tip top, courteous, and fast. First it started with our drink orders, which they were out of, and so we were offered a substitute. The pizzas we ordered were delicious and authentic, but my wife's pizza was slightly burned (and I mean burned through... with holes literally). The pizza menu offerings were good, with good premium ingredients, but I wished I could have ordered a custom pizza with those premium ingredients since I know my own preferences. Need I mention that it was also a gas oven made of brick with an internal turntable (sticklers for authentic Italian "pizza" will know what I am referring to). The restaurant space was spacious and pleasant, but I felt that the ambience was not as cozy, or romantic, as our favourite place in Solsiden. Prices were moderate and reasonable, I felt. Very much in line with the local market considering also the prime location.Overall, Frati did a very good job. The food was good and service excellent. We definitely plan to return there! Recommended for the Sentrum Torget area.Thank you so much for your feedback! We are very pleased to hear that you (for the most part) enjoy our pizzas. We would like to apologize for your wifes pizza being slightly burned, that certainly is not to the standard we like to serve our food. With regards to your desire to compose your own pizza with premium ingredients, we are more than happy to accommodate for "special requests". So the next time you pop by, feel free to ask the waiter to add certain extra ingredients to your chosen pizza (sometimes, but rarely these come at an additional cost). It is nice to know that you had a good experience of customer service with us. My daughter and I enjoyed a pizza and a pasta frutti de mare (seafood) with a glass of white wine. The food tasted very well. This restaurant is a bit hidden in the 1st floor downtown Trondheim, but you can sit on their roof terrace and enjoy the food. Kind waitress, so we had a nice evening.

I have been at this restaurant several times and I truly recommend it to everyone. The attention of the service members are amazing, they take your order fast and bring your reasonably priced delicious food quickly. Very hospitable environment. The menu offers a variety of dishes from meat based dishes, to various kinds of pizza and the soup of the day. If you are there for chill and relax, sit at the Gastropub department of Ladejarlen and taste local beers!

Iâm Italian, Iâm in Trondheim on holiday with my family. My daughter is 17 months old and she doesnât like very much Norwegian cuisine, so we try with this restaurant and... We find a very original place, a lovely and kind service, an amazing food! Better than lots of restaurant in Italy. I suggest with no doubt pizza and pasta with ragù Bolognese. Thanks to the Italian guy that made us feel at home.Ciao, grazie mille per esserti presa il tempo di scrivere la recensione. Speriamo di riaverti al piu presto nel ristorante. :-)
