Everyone knows this pizza is a great deal for the price. This is the kind of pizza to bring home to the family like once every other week or so. Cant beat two pizzas and breadsticks that feeds a family of 4, plus leftovers for under $20. Don't see that very often.

Arrived during the meal hour Sat. evening, seated promptly, excellent male waiter, food served timely and hot. This is among the best pizza we have ever eaten. Spouses love the BBQ special, we're more traditional with pepperoni and sausage. We'll be back.

We have been ordering pizza from this location for years. The service is always quick and friendly. Twice we had minor issues with our order and both times the staff happily fixed the problem. Even for one of the chains, the pizza is very good, especially with their new sauces and crust glazes. It compares nicely with much more expensive pizzas elsewhere. So, whether we are eating in or picking up carry out, this is our pizza place.

Ordered up a large meat lover's pizza and wing dings to go. The pizza was excellent, with very generous toppings of sausage, pepperoni, ground beef and bacon. No skimping on toppings on this pizza! The wings were very crunchy with a bit of a mild zip to them.

Rosati's Pizza

Rosati's Pizza is a far-reaching chain that dates to the 1920s. The original owner served pizza to Al Capone--and lived to tell about it. Today, there are over 200 locations in a dozen states from California to Texas to Florida, including 74 in Illinois. I thought the Rosati's in Sandwich, Illinois, was listed by Tripadvisor. Not until now. But the locations in nearby Yorkville, Montgomery and Aurora are listed. So is the one in downtown Chicago. Takeout or delivery, Rosati's Italian menu is very popular. Whenever we visit my mother at her home on Lake Holiday between Sandwich and Somonauk, it is common for us to order a Rosati's pizza. My mother acquainted me with pizza for the first time in the early 1950s, when it wasn't so popular and there weren't pizza parlors on every corner. I remember I liked it cold, the day after. I still do. But I have become attached to thin crust cheese and sausage, with extra sausage. Rosati's offers three crusts--thin, double dough and Chicago-style or deep dish. To many people, pizza is pizza. To others, every pizza is different, like a finger print. Rosati's dough is a blend of unique flour made from high protein, high quality wheat grain grown only in the Midwest. Its sauce is made from an old family recipe with tomatoes grown in the great central valley of California. The cheese is the freshest Wisconsin mozzarella. And the sausage is made fresh daily in Chicago using a family recipe that goes back over 50 years. It certainly doesn't come out of a can or a freezer. Very fresh. If you're not in a mood for pizza (who isn't?), you might enjoy the bruschetta or cheesy garlic bread or mozzarella sticks or wings or salads or sandwiches (Italian beef, Italian sausage, meatballs) or pasta (lasagna, spaghetti, four-cheese ravioli, Italian sausage and classic penne noodles, chicken parmigiana) or desserts (cannoli, zeppole, fudge brownie). But the pizza is tops. It certainly doesn't taste like a chain pizza. Instead, it has the taste of home cooking.

Suzi's Pizza

Reviewed By Taylor B

The name of the place is Suzy's Pizza, not Suzi's Pizza, and they've been satisfying pizza lovers in the Plano/Sandwich/Somonauk area since 1996. My sister, who lives in Palos Heights, loves Suzy's pizza so much that whenever she visits my mother at Lake Holiday outside of Sandwich she always stops at Suzy's for a pizza to go. That's a pretty good endorsement. My wife and I prefer thin crust pizza, with cheese and lots of Italian sausage, no other toppings, and Suzy's version is highly recommended with flavorful cheese, sweet tomato sauce and soft crust that hardly needs to be chewed. We're told they prepare home-made dough from scratch daily. Most people cater to more exotic forms of pizza with lots of toppings from mushrooms to green peppers to black or green olives to pepperoni to pineapple to jalapeno to anchovy to garlic to ham to bacon to chicken. Well, Suzy's offers nine special pizzas to satisfy your palate, even a taco pizza with special sauce, ground beef, lettuce, onion, tomato and cheddar cheese. Or try the vegetarian pizza with green pepper, mushroom and tomato. Or the Hawaiian pizza with pineapple and Canadian bacon. Or the BBQ pizza with sweet Baby Ray Barbecue sauce with chicken or sliced beef. The most adventurous eaters might be challenged by The Works, with sausage, mushroom, green pepper, tomato, green oliver, black olive, onion and pepperoni. If you aren't in a mood for pizza, I recommend garlic bread with an Italian sausage sandwich or Suzy's Famous Beefeater (Italian beef with melted Swiss cheese on toasted sourdough bread with garlic butter) or the meatball sandwich or, for very hungry folks, the Big Reaper, which features tender all-beef Italian meatballs covered with sliced Italian beef with pizza sauce and mozzarella cheese and oven toasted). As I said, Suzy's has been in business in this small town since 1996 so they must be doing something right to draw a hungry clientele.

We use to order from here once a week. Pizza was always great!! Once there were rumors they were closing the pizza and breadsticks changed. The sauce tastes different pizza is always salty and over seasoned . Garlic bread is always burnt and stuck the paper in the box. We tried them 4 times again and again same thing. It's unfortunate because it use to be our weekly delivery. One time they even forgot about us after a hour in a half we called they said they were sorry it finally got here a hour after that.
