We had a Godfatherâs Pizza in my town that closed many years ago, so while traveling to Mobile, I was so excited to see it. It wasnât as good as I remembered, but it was inexpensive and had lots of toppings. We got cheese sticks, a jumbo pizza (12 big slices) 2 soft drinks, a beer and two waters. It cost $33, and we had three slices leftover (we are a family of five with 3 sons - 22,20, and 15. So that was a lot of food for us to have leftovers.).

Newks is a great restaurant with terrific soups, salads, sandwiches, pizzas, and desserts. This location is in a small strip mall near Costco and has a well-lit, clean, and welcoming interior. Staff members are personable and helpful. The menu is fairly extensive and I have enjoyed everything I have every tried. Some of the sandwiches have a honey mustard spread on the freshly baked crusty bread--it is wonderful! The creole-type sauce on some sandwiches is delicious and not spicy. The meats are flavorful and the veggies are always fresh. The pizzas are super--always fresh with plenty of toppings and a crispy crust. The salads are a mixture of spring greens, cucumbers, tomatoes and a selection of dressings. The soup menu changes daily with 5-6 choices each day. Every one of them is awesome!! Newks has a To Go section where you just walk in and select prepared food to go. In addition, there is a "Round Table" in the middle of the restaurant that has self-service bread sticks, roasted garlic cloves, shredded parmesan cheese, pickles, croutons, capers and more. Awesome!! Don't miss lunch or dinner at Newk's!! Try to save room for the multi-layer cakes, brownies, or Rice Krispie treats!!

The wine store (and they also have beer) has attached a restaurant. Diners shop for their wine and bring it to the table. There is an upcharge of $5.00 (they call it a corking fee) per bottle. However, a number of wines were priced lower than the sticker I see at home on the same varietals, so I still came out ahead (at least, thatâs what I told my husband, LOL).Several appetizers and pizzas available. As we passed by other tables en route to ours, everything looked tempting. They were not overly busy the night of our visit, so they âallowedâ us (I am using our serversâ words) to customize a pizza. It was terrific! Their wood fired oven delivered a pizza with the perfect combination of soft/crispy to the crust. The only suggestion I have for Red or White is I have NEVER been to a restaurant where they will not allow you to order a pizza with your choice of toppings. I have a lot of food allergies, so I almost always have to custom order a pizza. I was grateful the kitchen accommodated us, but as the person who brought out our pie remarked, âHey this looks great! Maybe we should add this combo to the menu.â

This place is a tiny, out of the way pub located in mid-town Mobile, AL. The food is absolutely wonderful! The music is a bit loud, but who cares! They have drink and food specials daily and all of it is great! The only downside to the Ashland Midtown Pub is getting in!!

As the title suggests I think they've got one of the best deals going including a slice of pizza and a salad and a drink for lunchAlthough i always like to eat outside today was too hotMy only complaint today was that they had a couple of annoying flies that I don't remember experiencing before but sometimes they can be difficult to control of courseOh no! We hate to hear about the flies, they are definitely hard to control here in the south. We appreciate your feedback though and will try to be more diligent about removing these pesky guests. Thanks for the feedback!

Found this place for dinner before Art Walk in Mobile (also very fun) 5 stars for quality of food and valueCasual atmosphere but worth coming for the food!!!We shared Caesar salad (housemade dressing so good), bruschetta (delicious) and Gardenia pizza (cheese and toppings tasty)Weâll be back!
