Had lunch here a couple of days ago. First of all Whiterock is a lovely area to visit in the summer, we're fairly local but go 2-3 times in the summer to enjoy the beach stroll. There are lots of good choices for lunch or dinner. This time we decided on Mexican. Some restaurants have a beach view while seated, Zapoteca doesn't but you definitely feel and smell that sea breeze sitting outside. Very pleasant on a hot day.After perusing the lunch menu and questions answered by the server, we were ready to order. Mexican beer for the guys of course. 3 ordered quesadillas, 1 a Oaxacan salad, and 1 ordered grilled shrimp tacos, 1 ordered chicken tacos.The 3 quesadilla orders all said they enjoyed their meals and had enough to eat. The tacos, both chicken and shrimp, were really good but small, not quite filling enough for some. The salad was tasty and an adequate size for lunch.Given the amount of food received, the prices are a little on the high side.Other Mexican restaurants we have visited usually provide taco chips to munch on before the meals arrive. At Zapoteca you have to purchase these and again for the amount you get, they were expensive.

We tried Baja Cantina at the recommendation of our AirBNB hostess (who is a White Rock local) and it was amazing!! We experienced a unique and absolutely delicious margarita with carrot and orange and garnished with pomegranate. Highly recommended! Fresh guacamole made table-side followed by handmade blue corn tortillas and the most amazing chicken and prawn stone bowl dinners (molcajetes). The entire table was incredibly impressed. The spices and flavor combinations were some of the best we've ever had.

First of all this eatery is run by a third generation Mexican/Canadian couple. It's a spin-off from the great Primo's restaurant in Vancouver B.C located on Twelve and Granville. My advice is to go with the big dishes unless you want something less to tie you up till the evening. Great dishes and a couple of decent wines to choose from. The margaritas are good, although I did not have one because I went for a bottle of red wine. If you have a sweet tooth go for the house dessert....POW! anyway we're going back soon, the city is fixing the pier that the storm ripped apart, soon they'll have ample parking.

This is another of our local go-to's for family take-out. The restaurant can hold some people with a small patio, but the general feel is of a takeout place. Mexican food cooked by Mexican people using high quality ingredients - excellent fish tacos, flautas, enchilladas, quesadillas and so on. It can take a bit of time to prepare so we always order ahead. So happy they're here!
