Visited this tapas restaurant 2 nights in a row. Staff friendly and helpful and an English menu is on hand to assist with your choices. We had starters and then went with recommendations of pork with honey and mustard sauce and chicken tandoori finished off with carrot cake it was gorgeous with a lovely bottle of house white and excellent value. Second night were were again not disappointed and really enjoyed tuna and pork. Again excellent value for quality of food. There is a relaxed ambience with an opportunity to chill out and watch world go by. Really recommend this restaurant during your stay in this area deserves its number 2 slot on TripAdvisor

Visited this restaurant twice & on both occasions had a fantastic meal. Rafa & the team at El Patron made us feel most welcome & hospitable. An extensive menu of TexMex food for all ages. Clean & modern seating for couples & larger parties both inside & out. Loved the Nachos & Tacos. Very knowledgeable staff to help with the meal & drinks menu options.English speaking staff (Rafa)

So we went to Almeria to explore a new area of Spain and away from the tourist crowds. We were not disappointed. We stayed in Costacabana area. I speak a bit of Spanish, so we were ok (just!). Nothing prepared me for the long menus of tapas however, traditional to Almeria, thank god Google Translate now exists as an offline app although it also struggled at times :) Been to El Lagarto (Lizard) twice. Service staff always excellent and patient with our Spanish :) Considering that it's only one out of 4 eating places in this small area, food was good, avocado and tomato salad, nachos, calamari rings and chilli con carne were excellent. They observe siesta so dinner does not start until 8pm. Ask for an English menu if utterly lost and confused.Querida lolkin, gracias por tu opinion, y como se que puedes traducir directamente lo que te escribo, te contesto en castellano,es decir en español.La colonia inglesa residente en costacabana, son clientes habituales, ya que nos esforzamos en hablar ingles,la carta esta traducida por una clienta habitual nativa con nombre Cristina, pero asimismo jugamos a que los clientes hablen español, es un juego muy divertido.Por lo demas, si estuviste bien, se te atendio bien, con eso me quedo satisfecho,ese es nuestro camino....seguimos caminando.

Gave this wonderfully named cafe a visit for lunch. A 'nothing matched' environment of miss matched coloured tables and chairs greeted us as did the two waiter owners. Nice selection of Tex-Mex food litter the menu. We went for a shared nacho platter followed by huge portions of carrot cake and ice cream. Started the liquid refreshment with beer and followed with a local wine, 42 euros.Could have done with more Motown soundtrack and it did have a Jimi Hendrix(?) picture on the wall, but all in all a pleasant afternoon was spent in this non Spanish cafe.
