We went to dinner here on the strength of their tripadvisor rating and reviews. Our experience here was different from the glowing tripadvisor ratings. The artichoke first course the waitress recommended was okay, but nothing remarkable. For the mains, I thought I was ordering the beef (we had communication issues as my French is limited as was the waitress's English) but got the lamb. There was so much fat on the lamb that there was hardly anything to eat. What I did eat was very tough. Others at the table ordered two vegetarian dishes, both of which were left unfinished due to lack of flavor. The mains cost around 20 euros each. For what we got, and particularly for the vegetarian dishes, it was not a good value. Maybe we ordered the wrong dishes, but after our experience we were not eager to go back to try others. During dinner, I overheard the owner urging the couple seated next to our table to write positive tripadvisor reviews. Perhaps this helps to explain, in part, such a high rating?

We last ate 2 years ago at this truly fabulous terrace restaurant when it had quirky, provencal-meets-modern-bohemian furniture... Since then Dan has bought and transformed this stunning eerie into the super-sophisticated, ultra comfortable & modern. Lovely attentive service... not all fully trained! The view towards and over Marseille is breathtaking. The Michelin-starred chef has remained and he is now creating even more amazing food. Every dish took our breath for its look and taste... We chose the Bois set menu at €72... Every morsel was outstanding with the scallops ranking as one of the best dishes we have ever eaten. Treat yourself to a very good wine... it's worth it!!!

L'Escale des Vins

The L'Escale des Vins is located on D7N about half way between Mallemort and Lambesc. It is in a modern, attractive building with perhaps the most unusual and beautiful flooring we have seen in this area of France. The food is priced a little higher than the usual 14-16 euro menus found in most towns along the way. I had a large scallop on raviolis in a cream sauce with leeks (19 euros). It was large enough to be fully satisfying all by itself. My wife had two scallops with julienne vegetables in a crispy crepe bowl (15 euros). It too was large enough to be fully satisfying. Both dishes were beautifully presented. I ordered a 1/2 liter of local rose which was very good and priced at only 6 euros. Seating is available outside on a shaded porch or inside. The restroom was spotlessly clean. We recommend this restaurant if you want a lunch priced a little above average but with food and wine that are way, way above average. Bon appetit!Merci pour votre confiance ainsi que votre avis partagé. La satisfaction du client est notre mot clé, nous sommes heureux de l'avoir accomplie. En espérant vous revoir bientôt. Bonne journée

Well Rognes is a lovely little Provence village a step away from the traditional touristic circuits, so little tourist and of course a bit less to see. For people who like the quiet charms and walking this area is perfect. As for wine lovers they'll be enchanted with the local wines they can taste locally and buy at the cooperative down the road and also directly with the local producers strew all around rognes. Now there are very few restaurants and cafés there and the Piano Gourmand is a pleasant surprise. It has three rooms inside and two outside courtyards in summer. Food is simple but nice an das its a family held restaurant the cooking is done by them. A large pizza oven sits in the first room and even some meats are cooked in it. Local dishes and yummy crispy pizzas are available - Wines are well chosen and service is friendly even when the places is packed , because it does get packed, so book. The owner of this restaurant has been collecting old labels, sign post, enamel adverts and objets for decades and they constitute and very colorful and amusing decoration. Pricing is fair. Enjoy

I really wanted to be super positive about an interesting new place in Lambesc but, pending a return visit sometime, it is not quite right yet. The mix of starters was fine, but the main course - a tagine of lamb - didn't make the grade. The lamb was very slightly cold in the middle and I fear I heard a microwave in the open kitchen, but the weakest part was the last second addition of some sauteed onions with raisins. I had expected the raisins to be cooked with the lamb to render a sweet succulent end result, but it was not to be.

La Cantine Gourmande

During a recent trip to the Provence area of southern France, my husband and I had the chance to eat at a restaurant called La Cantine in the village of Lambesc. It was clean, well decorated, and the service was excellent. But the reason we drove back to it a second time was the food. We were with local people on both visits, and though I am not a French cuisine expert myself, our companions are, and they had nothing but praise for the authenticity and quality of the food. I just know it was delicious enough to go back for! We look forward to dining there again on our next trip.

We had an outstanding lunch today. They pride themselves on local (Provençal) dishes and ingredients. We chose the menu marché which was excellent. Each dish was prepared to perfection. The service was attentive and at exactly the right pace. We chose to sit outside on their terrace which was perfect for a warm Spring day. The prices were reasonable especially given the quality. Well worth a visit!

Le Mas Bottero

My partner and two friends went to this restauarant for lunch. I had the vegetarian menu because it sounded so intriguing. Everyone else had the lunch time set menu. We were served the most delightful and imaginative appetiser of slivers of crisp bread, olive oil, fried chick pea squares, seasoned bread and a dip. A delight! All dishes that followed were beautifully presented, with first class products, cooked to perfection with fascinating accompanying sauces. I am not a vegetarian but as the lunch menu started with octopus which I do not eat, I opted for the vegetarian choice. It was absolutely sensational. The ambiance is city chic, minimalist with imaginative cutlery, china ware and glasses. The wine list was perfect, reflecting the best of local wines as well as those from further afield. There is also an interesting shop where you can purchase quality condiments, grains, salt and table items. The perfect place to buy presents. I cannot wait to return. A most relaxing and special experience. Lunch for 4 (2 courses each) plus wine was €132.Dear Joanna S, thank you very much for your experience feedback. Our vegetable offer is good on intended for the vegetarians but also for all the customers which wishes to discover an experience 100 % vegetable. Happy to have satisfied you.In the pleasure to find you at our table. Very cordially,NB

Le Mas d'Entremont

Excellent set meal for a group of 40 of us, in a beautiful setting in the hills outside Aix-en-Provence.An amuse-bouche, followed by smoked and marinated salmon with zucchini mousse, then guinea fowl with a mushroom sauce, dauphinoise potatoes and vegetables, then warm goats cheese and finally raspberry and vanilla macaron on a red fruit coulis. Lovely food, well presented.....but one of us is gluten-free, and the restaurant had been advised several days in advance. Gluten-free did not mean food items were substituted, they were simply omitted - no bread, no alternative to the dauphinoise potatoes. The service was very patchy at times; even though the gluten-free one of us did not have any dauphinoise potatoes, halfway through eating the main course, the waitress rushed up to take the meal away saying that it shouldn't have been served. After a discussion with another waitress, the meal was returned and pronounced ok. Heaven help anyone with a severe nut allergy. With attention to detail, the Mas d'Entremont could be excellent.
