We have been there for dinner a few times. It's a good Italian restaurant The food is typical Italian and the whole range is offered.The atmosphere is nothing to write home about, very noisy. And the prices are on the very high side. The service was okay .

I will first identify the good thing that deserved a 2 rating and that is its starters. Even a platter of mixed dips for 02 is good for 4 with hot bread which is very good. The rest is all south. So if you go to the grill counter to see what they have in mix grill or special, you only see 5 trays of lamb, chicken, spicy mince, pistachio mince and regular mince and they play the name game of all dishes within these 5. Even though the menu claimed amazing names, both mince and chicken were overly dried - more freezer time more dried up meat. The biggest objection to the place owner, Yes the owner and not me is that why we are 4 people and ordering 2 platters. I was asked this question twice and when I asked why I am being charged 10 CHF for an additional piece of bread, I was slapped with the same statement - you are 4 people and order 2 platters. Excuse me is there a restriction for not ordering freezer burnt meat?We've been to Taksim square in Istanbul and the Kebabs on normal street shops is way tastier, fresh and cheaper than this place. So it's your choice whether you want to be ripped off at this place and treated rudely since you want to check whether you should order more if you like it after tasting something basic, then please by all means go there. At the end of a two week trip throughout Europe, my husband and I made reservations at Za'atr to enjoy a last meal before we headed home. We arrived just before 7pm in the very small restaurant (only 4 tables inside) and proceeded to order the mezze platter for two. We got to choose 4 cold dishes and 3 warm dishes and it was CHF 63. The food arrived quickly and totally blew us away with its flavor and freshness. The falafel were the best we've had outside of the Middle East!!! While the restaurant may not look like much from the outside or inside, trust me, it is a hidden gem that you simply must visit! If you would like a seat, I would suggest making reservations which I was able to easily make via email. Definitely stop here while in Zurich if you love Lebanese food!

The cabbie couldn't really find the place because it was not what he was really looking for, I believe. And my wife and I felt more or less the same way. But there it was; not very impressive on the outside, and the inside was only slightly better. But the service was marvelous and the food was superb. The wine list was pretty good, too, BUT -- like everything else in this wonderful old city -- EXPENSIVE. I was here for a business convention. The appetizers were a buffet style with an array of calamari (pretty good), sausages (way too salty), French fries (too yellow than normal), Rossi sticks and supposedly minestrone soup which in fact is just vegetables with a watered-down tomato taste.The lobster pasta I ordered came and I was horrified to see the state in which it was served. Itâs not lobster. Just a third from a halved crayfish with 2 miserable prawns. The table wine is way too light and has an acidic after taste.The total experience is horrible. Itâs such a disappointment.

The food was good, the reservation was smooth, but in general we were very underwhelmed and are puzzled by the fantastically high rating on tripadvisor, which is why we wanted to share a review. This is a restaurant that we would have found by the dozens in London or Singapore where we used to live. The food was fresh and it was very tasty, but the menu was very limited and we could actually not find anything we liked (Vitello Tonnato as the only meat option when there are at least 2 overpriced ravioli dishes, for example; and for fish only the raw tartar...all of this is way too taste-specific and there was non dish that would suit a more general palate. The menu changes every month, and it had changed on that particular day with the menu not available on the website...we actually saw other parties sit down and ask about items on the menu and leave again, but we decided to stay). Desert was also overpriced and not that great. We had a table outside, which was on the sidewalk with many people walking by very close to us (and given it is adjacent to Langstrasse, these people were sometimes not very pleasant or asking us for money). In general, this is a very expensive option for a night out, food is good, but we were looking for an anniversary dinner/special experience, which is clearly was not.Dear chooun14Thank you so much for your review. We visited the restaurant on a Saturday evening. The pizza was probably the best ever, the service not so much.The Good.1. The pizza was amazingly good! Probably the best ever and that is why the place gets 5 stars. The pizzas were thin Italian style, the sauce was great and the toppings plentiful and tasty. The ham and pepperoni was superb. 2. The other food was good and the outside space was nice to sit in.2. Online reservation was very easy.The Bad.1. From the outside, the place does not look the best. Outside tables are around a fountain and are quite tightly spaced whilst the inside is pleasantly decorated.2. The service was definitely hit and miss. Despite having a reservation, the very busy waiters took some time to seat us. The food was quite slow coming but at the end they ordered us a taxi which was helpful.3. By international standards, the place is expensive but reasonable for Switzerland. A pizza was about £20. OverallThe pizza was amazing and it is a pizza restaurant so despite more average service, it has to be 5 stars. Would definitely return.
