I came here based on the reviews. It is now obvious people in this area do NOT know what Mexican food is supposed to taste like. Ordered Chili Con Queso which is supposed to be a CHEESE dip with a little beef mixed in. What I got was an overpriced cup of what tasted like Hormel canned chili with a little melted Velveeta in a flat bowl to make it look like there was more. It was served with a piece of corn bread. CORN BREAD!!!! WHY??? It was bland and boring. My husband order the enchiladas which were small and bland. Overpriced at $15. Nothing in this place seems to have a kick to it. On the way home, we passed a little taco stand. I'm willing to give them a try. Can't be worse - or cost more - than this place.

Cholula restaurant

After a long workweek, we decided to do something different. This restaurant has been on our radar for sometime. So we followed our instincts. To our amazement, we found this little quaint restaurant that serves really authentic Mexican food. The atmosphere wasn't great but the waitstaff and food were fantastic. The atmosphere had a California telethon on television broadcast in Spanish and the colors of the walls and ornaments were traditional from Mexico. The specials on the board were written in Spanish so we needed the waitress to interpret. All of these dishes sounded delicious. We started our meal with several Mexican ground beef and chicken empandadas. Before serving our appetizers, our table was filled with green and bean sauce, and salsa with corn chips. We ordered the Molcajete, which is a combination of Mexican spicy pork and sausage, chicken and beef topped with cheese, peppers, and a variety of other treats. It was so much food that we ended up taken most of it home. The dish was terrific - seasoned and cooked exact. The Mexican sausage was a bit spicy but mixed with the other ingredients, everything was fine. My wife wanted to take home a few churros. The price for all of this food was less than a regular meal at a more distinguished restaurant. If you are looking for an inexpensive night out and your in the mood for real Mexican food, then you must come here. As a suggestion, get there early because the place gets packed with patrons.

I've grabbed food from here many times. It's always good. There are quite a few tables to sit at and the place is clean and friendly. I do love the chicken and beef empanadas. Wish they weren't fried, or I'd eat them all the time.

Taqueria Maria's

It was my son's last weekend before returning back to school. We had told him about this restaurant but he didn't believe us. So we went to share the food experience. We were not disappointed and he was stunned about the unique flavors and freshness of the ingredients. You don't get that in Massachusetts.First we ordered homemade guacamole salsa with fresh tomato and avocado. That was followed by grilled chicken, pork, shrimp and steak quesadilla with grilled red & green peppers, tomato, onions & melted Monterrey jack cheese. My son ordered the large burrito Maria. The quesadilla were so hot the steam filled the table. From our vantage point, we could see the guacamole and tomatoes were just made by the chef. In fact, he was so happy cooking that he was dancing to the music in the restaurant. To top off a fantastic meal, we ordered cream stuffed chirros with cinnamon sugar. They were heated and presented with raspberry jam. Wow! Was that delicious. While the restaurant is small, it is run by family who are dedicated to their craft. Please stop by and taste their food. You will not be disappointed. Guaranteed.
