This place is delicious. The burritos at easing and the size of a small child, so you won’t be disappointed. I had the tacos, equally amazing, and a salad which was great too. Everything I ate was phenomenal , even the chips and guac. Go here.

Mais Arepas

Small, crowded and loud. Made conversation tough. An estimated wait time of 30 – 45 minutes was actually 20 minutes- and that is worth an extra bubble right there. Interesting food options from Columbia. The service was a bit spotty, and ordering their featured plate, sort of a combo plate, had a strip steak as the center of the entrée. The steak was literally unable to be cut wit the serrated knife provided. After a fair amount of effort locating a server, we got the steak replaced. The second one was better, but still pretty tough. I realize that it is not a great cut of beef, but it should be able to be chewed. Anyhow, I would probably try it again, but order differently.

This was our second time to go to La Boca and it was just as perfect as the first!! Every appetizer and side dish are unique and my steak was cooked perfectly! It is a fairly small place so you need reservations. Also if you have at least 4 people and all will commit, for about $55 each they bring you 4 courses and it’s all amazing and worth every dime!!

Juan's Flying Burrito

We are a family of Mexican food loving people. For our son’s 11th birthday, he wanted tacos so we headed to the Flying Burrito. It was a noisy little joint that seemed pretty fun. Here’s what ensued:The Good: My son and wife loved their tacos, which filled them up. My flying burrito was deliciously made with solid ingredients, especially the shrimp. The chips and salsa were really tasty as well. Our service was attentive and quick as well. The Bad: Being charged for chips and salsa, always a pet-peeve of ours. They didn’t have any special complimentary dessert for my son’s birthday, which wasn’t a huge deal, but he was a little bummed. The prices were a little high, especially for not including beans and rice with our dishes. The bathrooms were filthy with some fecal stains all over the men’s room floor. It really ended the night on a down note. Maybe it was a rough night for them, but it wasn’t what we imagined.

Baru Bistro & Tapas

We spent the afternoon walking Magazine Street and needed a break. Baru Bistro was never our destination, just happened to be along the way. We grabbed a table street side and ordered drinks and food. So glad we stopped. Though our Capirinhas were not traditional (pineapple is not a traditional ingredient), they were delicious. Their ceviche was not traditional either but was good in its own right. We all felt Baru Bistro was a great place to take a break from our travels.
