Golden lies along Clear Creek at the base of the Front Range of the Rocky Mountains. Founded during the Pike's Peak Gold Rush on June 16, 1859, the mining camp was originally named Golden City in honor of Thomas L. Golden. Golden City served as the capital of the provisional Territory of Jefferson from 1860 to 1861, and capital of the official Territory of Colorado from 1862 to 1867. In 1867, the territorial capital was moved about 12 miles (19 km) east to Denver City. The United States Census Bureau estimates that the city population was 18,867 in 2010.

One of the most dysfunctional places Iâve ever walked into. It was several minutes before anyone acknowledged us and then it was several more minutes before they could clear the table they wanted to stick us at and then even longer until they actually came to the table to attempt to serve us. It looked as if the staff was on vacation somewhere else. Donât waste your time here. Terrible!

My son was born in Florida and got used to really good Cuban and Caribbean food. In Colorado, the options have been limited. Finding El Callejon made him (and I) super happy! Pupusas, fried plantains and rice? An excellent meal. It's a tiny space, and for lunch can be a bit crowded so we try to show up a little early to get a seat. Also great for a quick bite, service is prompt.

Local Mexican Restaurant with homemade flavors. Every dish is made to order to ensure freshness and provide the best flavor possible. Los Jarritos are known for the breakfast burrito.

Stopped by here after dropping kids off across the street for summer camp at Golden high school. I feel like this place has had a few different owners over the years but I was pleasantly surprised by both the service and the food quality. Horchata was yummy! Breakfast burritos were small cheap and tasty.
