After a long day of travel to and back from Napa Valley, Mikasa hit the spot. Everyone in our party had either teriyaki salmon or teriyaki vegetables and we were not disappointed.

I tried this restaurant the first time because it is within walking distance. When you first walk in you are given a friendly greeting by everyone that works there. The place is clean and welcoming and the food is very good and fresh. The first time I ordered the sashimi salad. I was eating low carb that day. The sashimi was very fresh, which I didn't expect being in Tracy. I am very picky about my produce and the lettuce was very fresh and crispy. Since then I have taken family there and they are equally impressed. I have ordered the saba shioyaki (broiled mackerel) which is a favorite of mine. While this is a very simple dish, it can be very easily over cooked. The nigiri and sushi rolls, are very good and fresh as well. I am not a fan of rolls that contain mayo or avocado but they have a large selection to choose from. You will not be disappointed if you eat here. Check the hours though. They do close between lunch and dinner. They are closed, I believe, on Sunday.

Stayed in Tracy on business and needed a place to eat near our hotel. Kind of stumbled on this little sushi place. In a shopping center near the Home Depot, this small restaurant proved to be the a good choice. Big menu for dinners and combinations along with plenty of sashimi, sushi and specialty rolls to pick from. Quick and pleasant service. Just beer and sake selections. The Lambada roll was the best and we liked the Cherry Blossom roll. The Hamachi was some of the best I have had.

5. Kimono Sushi

Inconspicuous strip mall location that looked empty but was bright and filled with people once you stepped in the door. An almost overwhelming amount of rolls on the menu but with patient waitresses we hunkered down and found what would come to delight us. I won't go over our 4 rolls but each were unique and satisfying. We are on the road for business alot so I can tell this will become a frequent spot for an adequate sushi dinner when staying the night in Tracy.
