Takashi Japanese Cuisine

Reviewed By 380miguelp

My parents and best friend have been inviting me here for a time now, I was finally able to try it over the weekend and I'll definitely be coming back. This place is very affordable and the owner is Japanese. I had their popular Ramen since it was my first time and a side order of Tempura, the broth was very good, not overly tasty but just right, the noodles (Which they boasted were made onsite were firm and very good, I had a second order of the noodles because there was still a lot of broth left and they even filled up the bowl with even more broth!) the Tempura, I hold some reservations with but its more on the good side, its not overly battered like some but some also didn't stick to the batter as I ate it, (Pet peeve eating a naked prawn) The fried noodles were good too. The service was great, the staff make that effort to make sure your dining experience is a pleasant one and you feel very attended to, (They just had a miss with one order I had but no biggie.)The location, well its in the compound of PC (Pioneer Centre) where parking can get full + the traffic in pioneer and Kapitolyo at times but other than that its okay.Definitely a good Japanese food find. Definitely recommend to try and will revisit soon for their Katsu Curry as well as their Sashimi which I heard were fresh but wasn't in the mood for the time I came to visit.

We decided to have a Valentine's Family Date at Coco Ichibanya. The restaurant is located at Estancia Mall in Capital Commons. The food was deliciously spicy. The location is just right. They mainly serve Japanese fare as the name implies. They have five types of spiciness, all you have to do is choose which one you like, and enjoy!

The place, the ambiance, the staff, especially the wine & the food, all are awesome! Really love the food and wine that has been recommended by the Owner, it's beyond expectation that the owner could met our needs because a friend of mine is a "picky person" for a food. Totally recommended and would love to back again on my next visit to Manila!

Come here for the ramen and expect not much else. The broth is absolutely delicious and the noodles have the right amount of firmness/ springiness. You can customize it in many different ways - from broth, sauce, toppings and more. Can' decide? Tick off the Chef's Recommendation and they'll take care of it for you. I ordered one without any protein and I didn't even taste the difference - it was that flavorful. The condiments on the table help ensure you still control flavor to a large degree. There were lots of servers, and they were very cheerful and friendly. It just wasn't easy to catch their attention. You'd think with that many servers you'd have one or two with their eye on the dining area. Even billing out took a long time, I think the first person I asked forgot to do it.The drinks menu is sparse, and dessert even more so. I had the ice cream with liquor - meh. It came with crushed soda crackers. I was underwhelmed.I can go back for the ramen, and nothing else.

This is where we had our buffet breakfast. Tucked in the 3 star Mercure hotel , the place was everything for the nice atmosphere of a dining experience. Too sad though , the breakfast was really bad. I mean really disgusting. Limited choices in the selection , yet staff manning the egg station was not visible . Ham choices felt overloaded with MSG. Not many courses , yet they offer chicken feet ? Felt like left overs of chicken meals they serve the past few days. Pancakes are not soft and fluffy. I mean for 950 pesos. Definitely not worth it. Funny thing , we were there last evening , at barely 9 pm ( they close at 10 pm) . We asked the waiter if they are still open. Yes he said. But no one even attended to us while we were just standing there. And they had a note, open toe sandals not allowed . But I saw one guy at the breakfast area wearing flip flops. Tsk tsk. That is what you call discipline. Dear guest,First, we would like to extend our apologies with regards to your breakfast experience and for the incident during dinner time at our restaurant, as we always aim to cater to our guests to the best of our abilities. Rest assured that these matters will be raised for discussion to the management for necessary investigation and appropriate actions. We appreciate that you have sent us an honest feedback, as this is very important for us to gauge and manage our services to improve the quality of guest experiences. We do hope that you'd still consider our hotel next time, and surely have a better stay than the last one. Thank you.

This part of Metro Manila is fast developing as there is now the Capitol Commons, the Ayala Mall and tucked in Astoria Hotel is this well-reputed Japanese restaurant. The Aburi Sushi and eel dishes found favour in our group. We opted for the sukiyaki which was followed by grilled hamachi heads, a delight to dig into and discover the different flavours found in the head of this yellow-fin tuna. Sevice was fast, efficient and friendly. Since the place is rather popular, the decibel level can be high.Dear Ofelia G,We appreciate this stellar review of your dining experience with us! Sumptuous and authentic Japanese cuisine located right at the heart of the booming Ortigas business district… what could be better? We at Minami Saki consistently offer our guests a beautiful array of oriental flavors. If you loved our crowd favorite, the Aburi Sushi, then we’re sure that your mouth will also water when you sample our Usuyaki Steak with Mushrooms - a juicy tender U.S. Sirloin, enveloping a delicious assortment of mushrooms with a savory onion sauce to top things off, oh yes!We look forward to your next meal with us. Oh how we've taken for granted that one of these days we will go. It's only a few blocks away from us, surely we'll go visit soon... "soon" came 5 years since we moved to the area! We're glad we went. Parking always seems to be a challenge in that corner so either park early or have your driver drop you off.We were impressed by our waiter who knew the menu, what went into each dish we ordered, and he clearly expressed himself in English. He was more like a Host, no mere order taker or server. The restaurant was busy but we were still able to hear each other throughout our conversations.Food was good. Salmon sashimi, tempura, and eggplant starter were the highlights of our meal. Interesting dessert, the coconut cream and jello was a pleasant surprise. Reasonable price for Japanese food!
