The administrative centre of the municipality is the town of Hamar. The municipality of Hamar was separated from Vang as a town and municipality of its own in 1849. Vang was merged back into Hamar on 1 January 1992.

Amazing that you can find such an excellent Sushi restaurant, so fare from the sea in Norway! I been told that this place is the best place for Sushi between Oslo and Trondheim, and they really live up to expectations! And I must mention the scallops, the best I have ever eaten at a Sushi bar! Great job, Nagomi!!!

One piece serves mostly take-away sushi, but they have about five tables in a backyard-setting which is nice enough for informal occations. I call this the most authentic sushi place in Hamar, first of all because they make a decent sushi with good value, everytime I've been there, and you get what you pay for. Second, it's urban backyard style is a quite charming contribution to an otherwise quiet town like Hamar. Service has room for improvement if you consider this to be a resturant, but I give them a five because they're completely honest about what they are about, and that is serving good sushi fast at very good price, and I've never been dissappointed. A sushi menu 3 (15 pieces maki and nigiri) will set you back 150,- NOK and that will satisfy most people, unless you're a big eater.
