Crisp, light crust, savory/sweet sauce and exquisite, fresh cheese is a sure recipe for delicious pizza. But Frank Pepe beats the others in that it's always baked just right. We come here often and enjoy the delectable pies with mushrooms or other toppings. Go here!

Excellent for many reasons. Varied menu with both traditional Italian & interesting takes on traditional Italian. Great service in spite of an extremely busy environment weekdays & weekends. Great food, cooked to perfection. Comfortable second floor seating if the vibrant downstairs is too loud for your taste. This restaurant hits all the marks, all the time. I have never had a dish I didn't like nor an experience that wasn't fantastic. I would highly recommend Carlos without hesitation. Reservations are definitely recommended. This place does a very vibrant business most nights.

Mamma Assunta

Over the years we have dined at this restaurant and every experience is the best! Our recent visit was participating at a private birthday dinner celebration. From beginning to end (some almost 7 hours later) it was fantastic. The bar offers delicious cocktails: I had the Peach martini, the best I ever had.The ambience is reminiscent of an elegant family dining area in a large house in Italy: from the fire place, frescos and flower arrangements, to the white table cloths and elegant glasses. The variety of presented appetizers was delicious & carefully chosen: baccala (cod) salad, polenta squares with a delicious ragú, octopus salad, salume & cheeses platters and the always savory house salad. The pappardelle alla bolognesa and the seafood pasta were outstanding. The entré (couple of choices) we’re delicious & beautifully displayed: we had the elegant and flavorful small lamb chops. The wine offered included well balanced Sauvignon Blanc whites and the always outstanding Montepulciano d’Abruzzo Zaccagnini. The whole meal was accompanied by a stupendous female singer while the very efficient, professional and friendly staff attended to all the guests needs. Elio Di Rosa, owner & restauranteur, indeed runs a wonderful restaurant that evokes the Old Italy with a modern twist but always faithful to the true Italian traditions. We highly recommend this restaurant and look forward to our next visit.

We went for a quick family dinner. Always delicious! Service could have been a tad better. My water glass stayed empty way too long. Avocado salad pizza is a MUST! Super delicious. Half way through dinner though the lights were dimmed. This has happened before when I’ve been there, but didn’t realize it must be done on purpose! It was very difficult to read the dessert menu, but thankfully I knew what I was having!Lots of yummy gelato and sorbet to choose from along with Italian favorites. Street parking, have quarters ready if before 7pm on a weekday.

Just had a great lunch at AJ’s. Read about the place on TripAdvisor and it was every bit as delicious, friendly and fun as suggested. AJ spent time chatting about his homemade yummy food, sent over some things he just thought we should taste, and even chatted about bbq sauce with my husband, who has become an amateur rib chef this summer.Burgers were delish. Pulled pork, too. Perfectly cooked rabe. Excellent coleslaw. And spicy pickled veggies just yummy. Not one to take no for a dessert answer, AJ sent small ( thank goodness) bowls of Giffords orange sherbets and vanilla ice cream over causing us to recall the Creamsicles of our youth.Tomorrow: pizza at AJ’s!

Oh and the prices are not so expensive. Very surprised for the quality and quantity that it was not a fortune. Skip all those fancy places and come here instead. You will not regret it!

My wife, daughter and I had Mother’s Day dinner at Gigante Restaurant & Bar yesterday evening and it was absolutely wonderful. -Service: From the very beginning with the valet parking to the very end when picked up our coats from the hostess the service was superb.-Decor/Ambiance: The place is filled with nice vibes. I would describe the décor as a casual approach to “modern nouveau elegance” (if there is such a description). A wide variety of spacious seating arrangements face onto a really striking bar, and there is a really neat private dining area to the rear. Really cool artwork is displayed throughout the restaurant and private dining areas. Unfortunately the weather was really bad so we could not take advantage of the outdoor seating with the beautiful fire pits that complement the indoor seating.-Food: In a word… Scrumptious! The restaurant is categorized as an “Italian” eatery. While there were quite a few Italian dishes on the menu (I must give a shot out to the Mozzarella en Carrozza…unique and outrageously good!), there was also a nice selection of other types of selections including a couple of really great Asian Fusion type dishes (I had the Rock Shrimp Tempura as an appetizer and the Beef Tenderloin Kung Pao as an entrée (the sauce for the shrimp tempura was amazing and the stir fried vegetables in the beef tenderloin absolutely succulent). My wife is still ranting about the flavor and texture of the Beef Short Ribs.Near the end our dinner the maître de came over and chatted with us about our dining experience. When we raved about the quality of the food the maître de asked us if we would like to meet Chef Samuel Kim. This turned out to be one of the highlights of the evening. At a new establishment like Gigante I would have expected these guys to give us the stereotypic marketing speil about how great the place is. Instead, both gentlemen were extremely genuine and cordial, and it was obvious that they both are extremely passionate about their professions. For my family, their passion (and that of all of the staff at Gigante) was manifest in a truly wonderful dining experience. We will definitely be back. This is a must for those in search of a great dining experience.
