We were lucky to get a table as we arrived without booking and although it was right at the start of service there was a queue of customers.In spite of being busy the food and service were excellent and although some of the dishes on the 26 Euro menu that we chose were standard Sarlat fare they were served with a twist to make them special.

We visit many restaurants - some are poor - some good - some great and some brilliant . This place qualifies as far as the food is concerned within the great catagory . We enjoyed the meal immensely BUT what make the venue brilliant is not just the food . Service and pleasantness of those responsible for welcoming guests and serving the food is a vital part of an enjoyable meal out . Unfortunately , while we would give the chef top marks, the service ,whilst efficient ,was less than we would expect in a restaurant of this quality. There was not one smile, very limited description of what we were eating and no welcoming greeting . The job of serving and appreciating clients needs is a skill which is sadly lacking at this otherwise great place to go . I think "grumpy" would be a good description of the service we received .Thank you for your comments and compliemnts.We'll see with our staff so that it does not happen again...Please, if/when you come back (I hope) let us know if it's OK.

I was early for lunch, but was provided with a table and served right away. The management and staff were polite and efficient. The food was great, better than I was expecting from such a busy place. The location provides a perfect place for watching all the activity in the square. I lingered a little while to watch the things going on as the tables filled up around me. There is a large outside patio area that is easily accessible. Loved the food and the service!

This place was good for a vegetarian dinner. It wasnât the best food ever, but it was very nice, and if youâre tired of all the meat, itâs great to have veggie. We went at 8pm, and it wasnât very busy. It picked up a bit by 8:30, but you could still go without a reservation.Thanks for your comment.See you soon with pleasure,Cécile Couperie
