Since the end off the year 2015 we are the new owners . We would like to welcome you in our restaurant were you can eat true flavors that Bob the chef is preparing for you with fresh and home made courses.
Great lunch and enjoyed by us all. The service was excellent both professional and friendly. The chef also came out to check whether everything was ok with our food and a nice touch. The irritant was that it was a fixe prix menu du jour but at least 80% of the dishes had a surcharge and the choice without a surcharge was limited. All the food we ordered was of a high standard in terms of quality and preparation. Will visit again for sure...

This restaurant is in the centre of the small Gascogne village of Estang. It is actually a hotel and restaurant and there is a separate Trip Advisor page covering the hotel aspect. Estang is a vibrant Gascogne village and its most striking landmark is next door to the restaurant, an old (over a hundred years) rusty red bullring which plays host to the traditional local 'Course Landaise', a type of bull fighting in which participants taunt the cow and dodge it when it charges but unlike the Spanish version, the cow lives to perform on another day!. I was in the area on business and the person I was visiting suggested the Commerce for lunch as he had eaten there on many occasions. The restaurant is delightful, clean, fresh and bright with friendly staff and typically of provincial villages has a bar area where light snacks can be consumed with a coffee or something stronger and a slightly more up-market restaurant. We arrived without a prior reservation and the restaurant was already busy with tables of up to six talking and eating, many of whom were probably local businessmen. The only menu I saw was a small chalkboard listing the âPlats de jourâ. There was a choice of two starters, two mains and a dessert or cheese to finish.I chose the Thon mi-cuit, it was served cold covered with a poppy seed crust on a winter coleslaw, it was absolutely delicious and would not have been out of place in a fine dining restaurant. As a main I selected Lapin au moutard that was a quarter rabbit served with noodles, again, it was simple but the flavours were perfect. As a dessert, a slice of apple pie and all washed down with a carafe of local Rose.It was a truly memorable lunch served by friendly efficient staff. If I was to be in the area again, I would probably endeavour to stay in the hotel as well.

Although located right on a busy bend around which large trucks regularly hurtle this friendly local hangout offers a reliable oasis of refreshment for anyone passing by. Drinks are readily available and meals are on offer from 7pm in the evening in the summer. The menu is limited but if you like pizza or steak and salad then you will be satisfied by the range available. Ambience is good and locals frequent here readily and regularly so there is usually a friendly buzz around the tables and families are in evidence. There is a TV and bar inside and the town centre is all around you so this will suit anyone wishing to make a rendezvous. Not the most romantic venue perhaps but a good, solid and trustworthy option for a reasonable meal with a small or large party.

Right on a busy interchange with trucks roaring by....our hotel, next door to this, sent us here for our half board dinner.Menu is on the placemat. We ordered the seafood salad, huge with lots of smoked salmon and wonderful horseradish tinged dressing. The other order was the assiette complete which came with a steak and fries, vegetables, and other meats and salad. I like my steak a bit more done than the blue I was served, so back it went. I commented that my fries will be cold when they return. Wrong!!! New fries with the perfectly cooked steak. tiramisu for dessert and cafe noisette.Service was very friendly, food came quickly. Probably fifty other people eating here when we left at nine. Very good value for money.

The hottel was a great place to stay and the restaurant was a wonderful place to eat. Get a room at the back as the main road is very busy. The woman at the reception was miserable but the lady serving dinner was delightful. Good reasonable place to say and to eat.

I went with two girlfriends on two occasions during our one week stay in Nogaro. Word was that this is a great place to eat and we were not disappointed. It's a family business. The menu is clear and clean. The portions are generous. I love fish and felt to be truly spoiled. On the second visit we all decided to go for Creme Brûlée and it was very good. Wide dishes and not deep. The fish cassoulet was magnificent. The lamb shank was unbeatable. All worth a visit to Nogaro

This is a restaurant attached to a hotel in Nogaro, Gascony in France in the Bas Armagnac Area.We were a bit skeptic first, but the restaurant filled up quickly with what looked like travelling business people. Our server spoke reasonable English and was very helpful (this entire trip we found the French extremely helpful and friendly). We choose Fois Gras (of course) and Salmon as appetizers and Lamb and Hake Fish as entrees. All were perfectly prepared and cooked. Nice Bottle of local wine...then for Dessert a 1951 vintage Chateau Laubade Armagnac. Since the restaurant is in the vicinity of Chateau Laubade the have a fantastic selection of Laubade Vintages going back many years.A very pleasant memory of Countryside Dining (free WiFi included). While in the Area make a visit to Chateau Laubade - a wonderful Bas Armagnac Producer just outside the town.
