Absolutely a great french rerstaurant.After a superbe and warm welcome by restaurant owner ( genuine welcome, and genuine care ), you will be able to seat and relax in this greatly and smartly designed restaurant, with high ceiling, mezzazine ...Menu a la Carte offers a good variety of french most popular dishes.The wine selection is great also, and reasonnably priced.You will be served by french waitresses who are extremelly charming.So, if looking for a chic french experience, dont go any further.2 car parks just 1 minute away from restaurant are avalaible.I recommend :Boeuf Bourguignon : superbe !( marinated beef, served with red wine french sauce )Bonjour,Thanks for your feedback and review. Travis and the team continue to deliver outstanding quality, impeccable service with good value.Wine list is accessible and truly works with the delicious food. Duck & Pork croquettes, and stracciatella are worth coming back for time after time.The chicken main was outstanding!

After my partner and I had 3 courses each, most meals were good, not amazing, but good. The dessert Tarte Tatin was a big let down but not as big a let down as being charged $20 per bottle of wine for corkage! We had some really nice bottles of French wine, we brought back from France and wanted to enjoy these with our French meal. Chez Bagou openly advertises BYO on a Tuesday and Sunday night on the website, however there is no reference of the corkage charge here nor on any menus we were presented with. When we sat down my partner queried the BYO he saw on the website with the waiter, yet still no mention of the $20 per bottle corkage charge. A little transparency here would have gone a long way. Needless to say receiving the bill and seeing a $40 charge for a bottle and a half of wine left such a sour note on what was supposed to be a really special evening for my partner and I. We have previously dined here and enjoyed it hence we were looking forward to coming back. We let the waiter know we were expecting a corkage charge, that goes without saying, but an amount of $40 was not appreciated especially as there was no transparency surrounding the charge. $40 is simply gross profiteering off your customers, it would be far better to not offer BYO on any night. After my partner and I dined here he sent an email to Chez Bagou to give feedback through the right channels, we never received a response!

Weâve been a fans of Adrian Richardson from way back. So itâs only logical that we were keen to taste his food for long time. The only reason being that La Luna is a rather pricey restaurant. However, our wish came true when recently we visited with family for a special occasion. All we can say is that it turned out to be a great experience and surpassed all expectations. Fantastic food and service. My reaction when I faced my 330g medium/rare Porterhouse was, OMG, Iâll never be able to eat all that...surprise, surprise, once I took a bite, just couldnât stop...it was to die for! And so it goes for everyone around the table. And then, it was dessert time... the taster plate was definitely a blast with other family members. My Affogato topped with a gorgeous French pear liqueur was just Devine. Expensive? Yes! But whoâs complaining? Many thanks Adrian and staff for an unforgettable night. We went here because of the excellent reviews, and because we were staying across the road for the week. We certainly we not let down. Promptly seated and given water and the menu. It is a very small place adjoining the QV markets, and can be accessed from the market when open, or from Victoria St. Ordered the following, Ternera Al Limon; Calamares; Fried Sardines, Patatas Asadas Con Mojo, which were all on the tapas menu, and followed these with Spanish Meatballs.All items very tasty, well presented, and full of flavour. The girl chef and her kitchen are very visible and it was great to see everything being prepared freshly before your eyes.I could not fault anything tonight and we were both very impressed. Total inc two glasses of red wine, was $112 for both of us. We walked away extremely satisfied and will have to return to try the rest of the tapas menu.Muchisimas gracias! Thank you very much for your compliments & time to Review us. We pride ourselves on happy staff and delicious Spanish food being served. Back in Melbourne for a visit, we definitely had to go eat at the Roule Galette again. Our meals were as fabulous as in the previous year. :-) Perfectly prepared galettes (= the savoury variety made with buckwheat) and crepes (= the sweet ones), friendly and prompt service, pleasant atmosphere. Not Japanese,Not French.Abundant food,excellent presentation,however not a lot of taste.Ventilation appalling,poor crowd and the wine list restrictive and over the top prices e.g Ravenaux Chablis Prem cru 2008 $750 a world record price!Waiter very difficult to understand.Staff generally good.Five men @$350 a head spend.Not money for value.

We just saw this place close to our accommodation so we thought that we would give it a go. Wow this place had such delicious food along with delightful service. We haven't had such nice Italian food for ages. This is a place to dine at when you come to Melbourne.

Our 'local' turned out to e a highlight of our Melbourne stay. From the minute we stepped inside this tiny [27 sq m!] restaurant we felt at home. Our waitress, Carolina, was a gem - ensuring always that we had enough water and wine, and were enjoying our food, without ever being intrusive. Everything is made on the premises and served up with Italian music in the background. Just fabulous and can't be recommended highly enough.
