I've been to El Gallinero for a business lunch and at first I was impressed by the place. It is really big and nicely decorated, ambiance is nice and tables are beautifully dressed.The menu looks good and ample, and we chose a salad to share in between three people, which was difficult to do because of the way it was assembled, nice for one by impossible for the centre of the table. We then shared the huevos con chistorra that were nice, and then came disaster. We ordered "lubina" and "Dorada" which were offered with different vegetables and supposedly were cooked in a different way but it turned out to be the same thing on different fish. A bit disappointing really.Desserts were nice, and service was quick and efficient but something happened at the kitchen and they did not even bothered to explain..First time I see this in a restaurant with these prices...

We ate here on a Sunday afternoon on the advice of our hotel. it took us a little while to find the restaurant, but we were glad we did. Its small and busy and best to book it would seem. The waiter was unsure if he could accommodate us between bookings, but did and we enjoyed an hour of good pizza and wine. Waiting staff were lovely and fast. Pizza is done in wood oven, has a lovely thin base and great fresh toppings. Salad of spinach and sun dried tomatoes was so fresh and nicely dressed. Nice wine by the glass. Busy with plenty of families and children. Plenty of Pizzas being ordered for take out . Seemed to be very popular in the area and we would definitely eat here again.

The staff are friendly, the food is excellent and the prices are reasonable, what more can you ask for. Roast chicken is beautifully cooked but there is so much more to choose from.

I have been explained that this place follows the Basque tradition. The fact that it is simple (as opposed to flashy) could easily confuse the customer, but the food is really good. Try the anchovies with peppers, the jamon with cheese, the eel, the fried cheese. Besides the wine (also good) I would recommend the cider... try to fill your glass yourself... you'll find out!Thank you very much for your words!

A year has passed since we visited the pub. ..but nothing has changed. The service is still excellent, the food very good. ..and sitting in such a nice location, the beer also taste even better. We just recommend this pub/restaurant

The lady serving us was funny and entertaining and the kids liked her a lot. They were surprised to see that there was a large variety of burgers and all choose a burger, so we ended up with four different burgers, six in total. They were served with a very small serving of fried potatoes, but otherwise they were rated very highly. Desserts were good too. Kids were offered to try various icecreams and settled only after tasting a spoon of each. We took the carrot cake and browny.So both the quality of the food and the service were great.Dear Willem:Thank you very much for your review. If new to Torrelodones you could easily miss this little gem if you just ploughed into the plaza mayor mesmerised by all the buckets of beer. One of the staff gave us a flyer and we were intrigued. We also noted it had good ratings on TripAdvisor, so decided to give it a bash. We were certainly not disappointed - food (pizza + lasagne) was excellent, as was the service - we wanted for nothing. Owner and other staff all very friendly. I was eating with my other half and her father - I have never seen the Outlaw finish a pizza, this time he wolfed it all down and was still banging on about how good the dough was 3 days later. We'll definitely be back.

If you stay northwest of Madrid, or decided to try something outside the city center this is highly recommended restaurant. Nice decoration, private salons so you donât feel it is full of people, delicious food, good choice of wine. Grilled tuna was very tasty, cod fish almost perfect, maybe they can improve in offering better side dishes. In general it was great experience, and all staff is very professional. Donât forget to reserve - on weekends itâs full.
