I've had a fish and it was very good. There was a leak on the air conditioning, and it was leaking just above my table. Apart of this, everything was good.

Had a great wine there, was a nice free beetroot thing, starter, compliments of the restaurant. I asked for a entrecot, médium (apunto) was not that, was fast cooked on the outside and raw on the inside, asked for it to be cooked more and then got it back and was a bit cooked bit still are in the middle. Not nice and didn't come back to see how it was. So didn't continue eating it and it was nearly €17. Not good. Waiter was not very polite and seemed to make a bit of enthusiasm, not such a friendly face. Then a cook or someone part of the team when to eat with someone and the waiter played more attention to that table more than ours. Price ok but not worth how it was done.

Great value for money with generous portions and low prices. Which is why it's so incredibly crowded, there's always a waiting list during the evening. Due to the crowds I would say it's not a relaxing place to eat.

Everything from the service, to the atmosphere, to the food at Estalvi is INCREDIBLE! I am a vegetarian, and it's so vegetarian friendly, and the food was honestly some of the best I have had, especially in Spain. Combinations so unique and so perfect. I wanted to have my starter salad for desert too, as it was that amazing. A huge thank you to Victor and his wife, who is one talented chef, for such a wonderful experience. We cannot wait to return over and over again, even if we have to drive 35 minutes every time. Wow!

Wonderful lunch on the waterfront, shielded from the wind by a glass wall. We ordered our drinks and were promptly given a complimentary tapa of mild cheese slices (havarti?), olives, pickled onion, small gherkin. Nice. We both had as our 1st plate roasted marinated vegetables with an anchovy fillet on top. Wonderful. For the 2nd plato, I had the baked noodles with morsels of duck, really good but salty. Husband had the sea bass, served w/potatoes bravo and some veg's. Excellent. So lucky their menu del dia was 12,50 euros that day, whereas the place next door was charging 19,50 euros. Looking forward to going back. yum.

Casa Salvador

Reviewed By felipehavana

Stopped here for lunch on the way to Teruel as Casa Salvador carries a good reputation for rice dishes. Being early December it was not full but we had booked, which I would recommend as it is a bit out of the way and I can imagine it being very popular at times.A huge restaurant near the beach on the edge of the rice fields with a large terrace overlooking the river Estany. A series of large dining rooms with high ceilings and decorated in traditional style with a riverside terrace. Service was efficient and the waiters were friendly and obliging. The five of us had various starters, which were good but not particularly noteworthy and as none of them included the homemade plankton and seaweed mayonnaise, which is a speciality here, and having in our group two Spanish restaurateurs we asked for a taster to try it. The waiter was happy to do this however whilst the consistency was perfect the flavour was nothing special. For the main course we all had the rice with duck and eel which was very good indeed but not really outstanding and in that respect a little disappointing.Overall the food, ambience and service were all good and the wine list extensive however the food and wine was overpriced compared to other similar establishments.Obviously an institution, the place was full of mainly large groups of friends or families and seemed to be more of a destination than somewhere you would pop into for a good lunch.Apart from being overpriced there is nothing negative about Casa Salvador but I would not hurry back as there are many other restaurants providing the same standard of food and service but at better value. If you are in the area and want a good rice dish there is no reason not to go to Casa Salvador, you will not be disappointed, but be aware of the prices.Thank you Felipe for your opinion! We regret not having liked 100%. Explain that our dishes are made with fresh products of first quality, so we consider that the prices are adjusted to what we offer. In addition, our kitchen team has years of experience making rice and traditional Valencian dishes.Regarding plankton, clarify that it is plankton mayonnaise (as explained in the menu) and the algae we use in this dish are natural. As for the rest of the dishes, we see that they didn't completely conquer you, but since you don't explain what exactly you didn't like about the starters and the rice, it is difficult to know how we can improve for the future.Regards and we hope you will be encouraged to return to finish conquering!

I know that I should embrace the local culture ( and I do) but as a Brit occasionally I want to eat before 20:00! This place will let you do that with a good offering on the menu at reasonable prices.Otherwise you are probably destined for Burger King. They advertise that you can have breakfast at dinner or dinner for breakfast- tells you what you need to know if you want to eat early and have a choice.Friendly staff and beautifully cooked food, very acceptable vino tinto de la casa!I had the Iberico secreto and my husband a burger. Mine was gorgeous and his was to quote “ way better than any burger chain” and they are only a couple of minutes walk from the beach front.Really like this place- not on the beach front but really it is good to check out where the Spanish are and they are here ( certainly when we arrived to eat at 18:30!) They may only be drinking at that time but please don’t let that put you off - it’s just cultural .Hoping to come back before we leaveThank you very much for your opinion, Cathy! We are glad that you enjoyed our cafeteria and that you enjoyed our dishes. We are the only coffee shop in Cullera that maintains kitchen service all the day and so, for foreigners who have different hours for lunch and dinner or for people who can't eat at certain times for work, we are always open.We hope to see you again soon!
