This is a lovely restaurant on the main artery that weaves through the medieval town of Kaysersberg. We dined here twice during our short, four-day stay. The restaurantâs personnel was charming and friendly (all women as far as we could see). Some English was spoken, but if it wasnât, it didnât matter. The language of smiles and hospitality was spoken here. The food was tasty, fresh and creative. There was a slightly less expensive lunch menu, but generally a meal was on the pricey side, but well worth it. We stayed six nights here and sampled a lot of restaurants all we can say about this one is you MUST go. The ambience, food, decor, service, wine all superb !!! I had goats cheese and salmon starter utterly amazing whipped light goats cheese with a poached egg buried. Hubby had carpaccio of tuna wowed. For the main i was actually able to have Turbot (rare in Alsace) hubby lamb. The food was so good we had dessert lemon sable tart with chartreuse ice cream. We wish we could go back.

This is not a fancy place, but at least they offer you god food at normal prices. We had a salade vigneronne (which is a bit heavy if you're used to quite lean food), and the feulleté forestier (which was really very good, and not drowning in cream). The wine was good, service was friendly and quite efficient, and the bill was normal for France (about 20% less than in Belgium). Good place to stop at lunch time when on a bicycle tour in the neighbourhood

Thierry is a very talented chef who runs the kitchen of the hotel restaurant "A l'Agneau" A selection of Alsatian traditional dishes with a personal interpretation of the chef & spices of love. We enjoyed wonderful dinners.It is important to book in advance!

Although number 2 Restuarant in this lovely little village the young owners of Cote Vigne should be rightly proud of their offering. We had a lovely dinner and really enjoyed their food and service. Good vitello tonnato, liked the pork cutlet in honey and cider.They are tied to a local wine house whose wines are nice but there are of course other choices.Do visit charming Kienzheim and you have two excellent Alsatian restaurants to enjoy. We wish them every success.

Food is extremely tasty and innovative, from the apéritif through to the coffee.Great use of local produce, from fish through game meat to vegetables. Fish course was cooked to perfection and game meat course was sublime.Quirky take on Flammekuche. Great cheese selection. Rhubarb based ice cream and chocolate dessert were outstanding.Service is seamless.Highly recommend.

Having arrived at Kientzheim for a four day wine tasting trip, we ended up at Schwendi because the first one we came across was fully booked. They fitted us in despite no reservation. Excellent service, lovely ambiance and gourmet food. Very helpful in selecting the wines for the starters and main course. Riesling and the Pinot gris went down well with the Escargots, Foie Gras and the absolutely delicious seasonal asparagus (never tasted better asparagus in butter with local ham and sides).

Diverse menu selection. Alsatian wines. Innovative desserts. All in a lovely setting of maybe 20 seats. Reservations required. Friendly husband and wife team are superb. No fixed price menus which was actually good for us as we were not looking for a formal dinner.

We wanted to celebrate a family member's birthday and chose this restaurant upon a recommendation from a local. The decor is very nice and cosy, but that's about here that the positive ends. The staff had the memory of a goldfish (not remembering preferences of the table), didn't speak much English (or rather didn't want to) and I consistently had to pour my own water (I'm a big girl and have no problem doing so, but expected that kind of service in a Michelin starred restaurant with the above average price tag). The food was ok, but failed to wow me. Will not come back. Thank you for your visit and your message. Delighted that the cooking pleased you

Whilst the food we had here was perfectly adequate, our evening was completely ruined by the dreadful service and poor attitude shown by the waiting staff. We sat down and ordered at 7.20 and by 9.00, having had our starters, were still waiting for our main courses. When they finally came I expressed (politely) our dissatisfaction, but again we ended up waiting to have those plates cleared away and the offer of dessert. By this time it was too late and I eventually managed to catch the eye of the waitress who offered no apology and was really quite rude in her manner, She said they were busy (which they weren't), but in my experience and opinion, restaurants shouldn't have more covers than they can cope with, and should certainly be more polite when customers are understandably frustrated. The table next to us were having similar issues, and they also left without ordering dessert or more drinks.
