Gormley's Cafe is a small restaurant/diner on E. Merrimack St, right across from the Immaculate Conception Church. The place is small, it has an "old fashioned Lowell charm that I appreciated.My brother and I like to try different eateries for breakfast. The servers and cook are friendly and helpful. We particularly liked the homefries so asked the waitress. The cook spoke right up and told us his "secret". Since I don't believe there's much damage you can do to eggs and sausages, the rest of our meals were fineOne thing to watch out for. Gormley's is on a busy street, parking is tight, unless you don't mind walking a distance from the municipal parking lot - I do mind. Bring quarters or use your credit card to feed the kiosk once you have found a parking spot and memorized the number.A couple of students came in while we were there, it is near Middlesex Communnity College, so be aware this might have something to do with the parking situation.

A cousin of mine comes here often, according to her Check-Ins on Facebook. My girlfriend and I decided to stop in and give it a try.The restaurant is kind of small and the tables are very close to one another so you really can't have a private conversation but you'll get over it. The inside wasn't remarkable.Whenever I see that a restaurant has hash on the menu I ask if it's real or from a can. I had the impression that I insulted the waitress when I asked by the look she gave me but she confirmed it was real.Indeed it was! It was good. Not the best I've had but pretty good. And a lot of it. I was pretty full but I ate it all. My girlfriend had maybe half of what she was served. It was a pretty hearty meal. Two eggs, hash, homefries, and an English muffin. For those of you that are gluten intolerant, they have several choices of bread to choices from if you want.It did seem to take a long time to get served. I would say that was the only downside.

My brother and I like to try different local places for breakfast and found ourselves at Fitzy's, a small diner in a mini-mall. The motif is Irish, there are photos and maps on the walls.I thought I would try something different, on the menu it is called the "Irish Boot". One egg, choice of meat (I picked sausage patty, of course), cheese and homefries, all in a bulkie roll! The roll was top end to me, very much softer than others I've had. The sausage patty was just a little spicy (I like that) and juicy. I've never seen fried potatoes in a sandwich, but it all worked out very well for me. You can get a double or a triple version, meaning extra meat - I didn't. It was a very satisfying breakfast sandwich,Except for the Irish decor nothing fancy about the place, service was OK, to me prices were good. We will likely be back and I know what I will order.

Love the owl Diner, classic staple in Lowell. They name all their omelettes after actual streets in Lowell.The Middlesex St. Omelette with kielbasa and onions and cheese is my favorite. If you are feeling especially gluttonous, get a grilled bagel with cream cheese instead of toast. Worth the up charge and the calories.

Visited for breakfast while in the area for business. It does not look like much from the outside, but nice diner feel inside. Sat at the counter and service was excellent. Had the meat lovers it was massive and came out in 5 minutes. The toast was okay but everything else was excellent. The price was right too.

We were in the area for a wedding and came here for breakfast and were very impressed. You could tell the food was good because this there was a long line to get in. The service was wonderful and the waitress staff very colorful. We had a great time and they made us feel like family. I would love to come back here again.
