While running errands developed a craving for a grilled cheese sandwich. Not a craving one can easily satisfy by heading to fast food row. But I knew right where to go. The Cozy Diner on Mangrove is easily accessible with plenty of shaded parking. Opted to add the ham for a grilled ham and cheese. Craving satisfied. My favorite Cozy Diner - a spot for breakfast with friends used to be a go to over the trendy - and crowded - alternatives. The service is top notch and the menu is quite diverse beyond a specific craving. Deserts are delicious. Always dependable.

I suppose Denny's restaurants offer a standardized menu throughout the country; perhaps they are adjusted to accommodate for regional tastes and traditions. So what sets apart one location from another? Service and cleanliness. In that regard, we found this Chico, CA, Denny's to be well above average. Four of us enjoyed an early-morning breakfast, choosing from the typical varied Denny's menu. Each dish was excellent, as was the table service. What more can you ask for?

This is a typical diner dive. Classic 70s orange-clad booths and worn tables. But the chicken is great, the soup was homemade and delicious. The mashed potatoes were just ok. And while other reviews rave about the pie, I was unimpressed with the chocolate pie which seems like chocolate pudding topped with whipped cream. The fruit pies look amazing and I wished I would have ordered that instead! Overall good and worth the extremely reasonable price!
