We were just passing through Napa on a drive from San Fran to Tahoe and decides to pick a spot for a bite to eat.Sandwiches here were freshly made, the right amount of filling and most importantly tasty. Ideal for either a sit down meal or if on the go.

This is a great small supermarket where you can buy picnic items for your day of wine tasting. They have an assortment of good cheeses and other antipasto items. They have wines, sodas, water and a variety of other drinks. They have crackers, bread, ice cream and things you need to make a meal if you are renting a vacation house. Also if you want prepared items like sandwiches and salads, or sandwiches, they have the Yountville Deli located inside the Ranch Market. There is always a line. I recommend you look them up on line and order ahead of time to avoid the line

They show any number of available sandwiches and there are many options. We arrived at 10:30 one recent weekday morning and placed our take-away order immediately. I was surprised to see "today's special" was unavailable. Huh? Soon, five or six more people came to the lunch counter and it was quickly obvious this small "rush" overwhelmed the staff's meager production capabilities. After a 15 minute wait with no obvious evidence our meals were being prepared - we had to leave to make a wine tour appointment - sending our driver back to Soda Canyon to fetch our sandwiches. We're fortunate we had that option!My sandwich was quite good though expensive. Our four sandwiches were about $50. I can recommend the Soda Kitchen but be aware of the long prep times and high prices.
